Blockchain has the potential to enhance supply chain management systems by providing stronger assurance in transparency and traceability of traded commodities. However, blockchain does not overcome the inherent issues of data trust in IoT enabled supply chains. Recent proposals attempt to tackle these issues by incorporating generic trust and reputation management methods, which do not entirely address the complex challenges of supply chain operations and suffers from significant drawbacks. In this paper, we propose DeTRM, a decentralised trust and reputation management solution for supply chains, which considers complex supply chain operations, such as splitting or merging of product lots, to provide a coherent trust management solution. We resolve data trust by correlating empirical data from adjacent sensor nodes, using which the authenticity of data can be assessed. We design a consortium blockchain, where smart contracts play a significant role in quantifying trustworthiness as a numerical score from different perspectives. A proof-of-concept implementation in Hyperledger Fabric shows that DeTRM is feasible and only incurs relatively small overheads compared to the baseline.

Different wireless Peer-to-Peer (P2P) routing protocols rely on cooperative protocols of interaction among peers, yet, most of the surveyed provide little detail on how the peers can take into consideration the peers' reliability for improving routing efficiency in collaborative networks. Previous research has shown that in most of the trust and reputation evaluation schemes, the peers' rating behaviour can be improved to include the peers' attributes for understanding peers' reliability. This paper proposes a reliability based trust model for dynamic trust evaluation between the peers in P2P networks for collaborative routing. Since the peers' routing attributes vary dynamically, our proposed model must also accommodate the dynamic changes of peers' attributes and behaviour. We introduce peers' buffers as a scaling factor for peers' trust evaluation in the trust and reputation routing protocols. The comparison between reliability and non-reliability based trust models using simulation shows the improved performance of our proposed model in terms of delivery ratio and average message latency.

Identity Management systems cannot be centralized anymore. Nowadays, users have multiple accounts, profiles and personal data distributed throughout the web and hosted by different providers. However, the online world is currently divided into identity silos forcing users to deal with repetitive authentication and registration processes and hindering a faster development of large scale e-business. Federation has been proposed as a technology to bridge different trust domains, allowing user identity information to be shared in order to improve usability. But further research is required to shift from the current static model, where manual bilateral agreements must be pre-configured to enable cooperation between unknown parties, to a more dynamic one, where trust relationships are established on demand in a fully automated fashion. This paper presents IdMRep, the first completely decentralized reputation-based mechanism which makes dynamic federation a reality. Initial experiments demonstrate its accuracy as well as an assumable overhead in scenarios with and without malicious nodes.
