Technology development has led to rapid increase in demands for multimedia applications. Due to this demand, digital archives are increasingly used to store these multimedia contents. Cloud is the commonly used archive to store, transmit, receive and share multimedia contents. Cloud makes use of internet to perform these tasks due to which data becomes more prone to attacks. Data security and privacy are compromised. This can be avoided by limiting data access to authenticated users and by hiding the data from cloud services that cannot be trusted. Hiding data from the cloud services involves encrypting the data before storing it into the cloud. Data to be shared with other users can be encrypted by utilizing Cipher Text-Policy Attribute Based Encryption (CP-ABE). CP-ABE is used which is a cryptographic technique that controls access to the encrypted data. The pairing-based computation based on bilinearity is used in ABE due to which the requirements for resources like memory and power supply increases rapidly. Most of the devices that we use today have limited memory. Therefore, an efficient pairing free CP- ABE access control scheme using elliptic curve cryptography has been used. Pairing based computation is replaced with scalar product on elliptic curves that reduces the necessary memory and resource requirements for the users. Even though pairing free CP-ABE is used, it is easier to retrieve the plaintext of a secret message if cryptanalysis is used. Therefore, this paper proposes to combine cryptography with steganography in such a way by embedding crypto text into an image to provide increased level of data security and data ownership for sub-optimal multimedia applications. It makes it harder for a cryptanalyst to retrieve the plaintext of a secret message from a stego-object if steganalysis were not used. This scheme significantly improved the data security as well as data privacy.
Cloud Computing is the most promising paradigm in recent times. It offers a cost-efficient service to individual and industries. However, outsourcing sensitive data to entrusted Cloud servers presents a brake to Cloud migration. Consequently, improving the security of data access is the most critical task. As an efficient cryptographic technique, Ciphertext Policy Attribute Based Encryption(CP-ABE) develops and implements fine-grained, flexible and scalable access control model. However, existing CP-ABE based approaches suffer from some limitations namely revocation, data owner overhead and computational cost. In this paper, we propose a sliced revocable solution resolving the aforementioned issues abbreviated RS-CPABE. We applied splitting algorithm. We execute symmetric encryption with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)in large data size and asymmetric encryption with CP-ABE in constant key length. We re-encrypt in case of revocation one single slice. To prove the proposed model, we expose security and performance evaluation.
Machine learning has been adopted widely to perform prediction and classification. Implementing machine learning increases security risks when computation process involves sensitive data on training and testing computations. We present a proposed system to protect machine learning engines in IoT environment without modifying internal machine learning architecture. Our proposed system is designed for passwordless and eliminated the third-party in executing machine learning transactions. To evaluate our a proposed system, we conduct experimental with machine learning transactions on IoT board and measure computation time each transaction. The experimental results show that our proposed system can address security issues on machine learning computation with low time consumption.
This paper introduces a new method of applying both an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and an Intrusion Response System (IRS) to communications protected using Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-based Encryption (CP-ABE) in the context of the Internet of Things. This method leverages features specific to CP-ABE in order to improve the detection capabilities of the IDS and the response ability of the network. It also enables improved privacy towards the users through group encryption rather than one-to-one shared key encryption as the policies used in the CP-ABE can easily include the IDS as an authorized reader. More importantly, it enables different levels of detection and response to intrusions, which can be crucial when using anomaly-based detection engines.
As cloud services greatly facilitate file sharing online, there's been a growing awareness of the security challenges brought by outsourcing data to a third party. Traditionally, the centralized management of cloud service provider brings about safety issues because the third party is only semi-trusted by clients. Besides, it causes trouble for sharing online data conveniently. In this paper, the blockchain technology is utilized for decentralized safety administration and provide more user-friendly service. Apart from that, Ciphertext-Policy Attribute Based Encryption is introduced as an effective tool to realize fine-grained data access control of the stored files. Meanwhile, the security analysis proves the confidentiality and integrity of the data stored in the cloud server. Finally, we evaluate the performance of computation overhead of our system.
The development of cloud computing has brought a lot of advantages, such as reducing the hardware cost and a more convenient storage solution. Because of the convenient and cheap storage solution, a large number of users put their valuable data onto the cloud. There have been more and more outsourcing data security and privacy issues. Several schemes using attribute-based encryption (ABE) have been proposed in cloud computing outsourcing data access control; However, most of them have stubborn in complex access control policy. To implement scalable, flexible and fine-grained access control in cloud storage, this paper proposes an attribute-based solution with time restriction delegate by extending the Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE). This scheme not only realizes the scalability and fine-grained access control, but also gives a solution for the data delegate. Our delegate mechanism can let the users entrusted the data which in their visit range to others, and the ability to set a time limit. Finally, we prove the security of our scheme based on the security of the Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) by Bethencourt et al. and analyze its performance and computational complexity. Experiments for our scheme are implemented and the result shows that it is both efficient and flexible in dealing with access control for outsourced data in cloud computing.
Easy sharing files in public network that is intended only for certain people often resulting in the leaking of sharing folders or files and able to be read also by others who are not authorized. Secure data is one of the most challenging issues in data sharing systems. Here, Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) is a reliable asymmetric encryption mechanism which deals with secure data and used for data encryption. It is not necessary encrypted to one particular user, but recipient is only able to decrypt if and only if the attribute set of his private key match with the specified policy in the ciphertext. In this paper, we propose a secure data exchange using CP-ABE with authentication feature. The data is attribute-based encrypted to satisfy confidentiality feature and authenticated to satisfy data authentication simultaneously.
