With the latest development of hydroelectric power generation system, the industrial control network system of hydroelectric power generation has undergone the transformation from the dedicated network, using proprietary protocols to an increasingly open network, adopting standard protocols, and increasing integration with hydroelectric power generation system. It generally believed that with the improvement of the smart grid, the future hydroelectric power generation system will rely more on the powerful network system. The general application of standardized communication protocol and intelligent electronic equipment in industrial control network provides a technical guarantee for realizing the intellectualization of hydroelectric power generation system but also brings about the network security problems that cannot be ignored. In order to solve the vulnerability of the system, we analyze and quantitatively evaluate the industrial control network of hydropower generation as a whole, and propose a set of attack and defense strategies. The method of vulnerability assessment with high diversity score proposed by us avoids the indifference of different vulnerability score to the greatest extent. At the same time, we propose an optimal attack and defense decision algorithm, which generates the optimal attack and defense strategy. The work of this paper can distinguish the actual hazards of vulnerable points more effectively.
With the rapid development of the information industry, the applications of Internet of things, cloud computing and artificial intelligence have greatly affected people's life, and the network equipment has increased with a blowout type. At the same time, more complex network environment has also led to a more serious network security problem. The traditional security solution becomes inefficient in the new situation. Therefore, it is an important task for the security industry to seek technical progress and improve the protection detection and protection ability of the security industry. Botnets have been one of the most important issues in many network security problems, especially in the last one or two years, and China has become one of the most endangered countries by botnets, thus the huge impact of botnets in the world has caused its detection problems to reset people's attention. This paper, based on the topic of botnet detection, focuses on the latest research achievements of botnet detection based on machine learning technology. Firstly, it expounds the application process of machine learning technology in the research of network space security, introduces the structure characteristics of botnet, and then introduces the machine learning in botnet detection. The security features of these solutions and the commonly used machine learning algorithms are emphatically analyzed and summarized. Finally, it summarizes the existing problems in the existing solutions, and the future development direction and challenges of machine learning technology in the research of network space security.
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are one of the challenging network security problems to address. The existing defense mechanisms against DDoS attacks usually filter the attack traffic at the victim side. The problem is exacerbated when there are spoofed IP addresses in the attack packets. In this case, even if the attacking traffic can be filtered by the victim, the attacker may reach the goal of blocking the access to the victim by consuming the computing resources or by consuming a big portion of the bandwidth to the victim. This paper proposes a Trace back-based Defense against DDoS Flooding Attacks (TDFA) approach to counter this problem. TDFA consists of three main components: Detection, Trace back, and Traffic Control. In this approach, the goal is to place the packet filtering as close to the attack source as possible. In doing so, the traffic control component at the victim side aims to set up a limit on the packet forwarding rate to the victim. This mechanism effectively reduces the rate of forwarding the attack packets and therefore improves the throughput of the legitimate traffic. Our results based on real world data sets show that TDFA is effective to reduce the attack traffic and to defend the quality of service for the legitimate traffic.
