Gupta, Priyanka, Garg, Gagan.  2019.  Handling concurrent requests in a secret sharing based storage system using Petri Nets. 2019 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Networks and Telecommunications Systems (ANTS). :1—6.

Data can be stored securely in various storage servers. But in the case of a server failure, or data theft from a certain number of servers, the remaining data becomes inadequate for use. Data is stored securely using secret sharing schemes, so that data can be reconstructed even if some of the servers fail. But not much work has been carried out in the direction of updation of this data. This leads to the problem of updation when two or more concurrent requests arrive and thus, it results in inconsistency. Our work proposes a novel method to store data securely with concurrent update requests using Petri Nets, under the assumption that the number of nodes is very large and the requests for updates are very frequent.

Niu, Yongfeng, Qi, Yanfeng.  2017.  Ternary Linear Codes with Few Weights from Functions with Two Variables. Proceedings of the 2017 International Conference on Cryptography, Security and Privacy. :22–27.

How to construct good linear codes is an important problem in coding theory. This paper considers the construction of linear codes from functions with two variables, presents a class of two-weight and three-weight ternary linear codes and employs the Gauss sums and exponential sums to determine the parameters and weight distribution of these codes. Linear codes with few weights have applications in consumer electronics, communication and date storage systems. Linear codes with two weights have applications in strongly regular graphs and linear codes with three weights can be applied in association schemes.

Cloud computing has become a part of people's lives. However, there are many unresolved problems with security of this technology. According to the assessment of international experts in the field of security, there are risks in the appearance of cloud collusion in uncertain conditions. To mitigate this type of uncertainty, and minimize data redundancy of encryption together with harms caused by cloud collusion, modified threshold Asmuth-Bloom and weighted Mignotte secret sharing schemes are used. We show that if the villains do know the secret parts, and/or do not know the secret key, they cannot recuperate the secret. If the attackers do not know the required number of secret parts but know the secret key, the probability that they obtain the secret depends the size of the machine word in bits that is less than 1/2(1-1). We demonstrate that the proposed scheme ensures security under several types of attacks. We propose four approaches to select weights for secret sharing schemes to optimize the system behavior based on data access speed: pessimistic, balanced, and optimistic, and on speed per price ratio. We use the approximate method to improve the detection, localization and error correction accuracy under cloud parameters uncertainty.
