Xie, J., Zhang, M., Ma, Y..  2019.  Using Format Migration and Preservation Metadata to Support Digital Preservation of Scientific Data. 2019 IEEE 10th International Conference on Software Engineering and Service Science (ICSESS). :1—6.

With the development of e-Science and data intensive scientific discovery, it needs to ensure scientific data available for the long-term, with the goal that the valuable scientific data should be discovered and re-used for downstream investigations, either alone, or in combination with newly generated data. As such, the preservation of scientific data enables that not only might experiment be reproducible and verifiable, but also new questions can be raised by other scientists to promote research and innovation. In this paper, we focus on the two main problems of digital preservation that are format migration and preservation metadata. Format migration includes both format verification and object transformation. The system architecture of format migration and preservation metadata is presented, mapping rules of object transformation are analyzed, data fixity and integrity and authenticity, digital signature and so on are discussed and an example is shown in detail.

Arji, Dian Abadi, Rukmana, Fandhy Bayu, Sari, Riri Fitri.  2019.  A Design of Digital Signature Mechanism in NDN-IP Gateway. 2019 International Conference on Information and Communications Technology (ICOIACT). :255–260.
Named Data Networking (NDN) is a new network architecture that has been projected as the future of internet architecture. Unlike the traditional internet approach which currently relies on client-server communication models to communicate each other, NDN relies on data as an entity. Hence the users only need the content and applications based on data naming, as there is no IP addresses needed. NDN is different than TCP/IP technology as NDN signs the data with Digital Signature to secure each data authenticity. Regarding huge number of uses on IP-based network, and the minimum number of NDN-based network implementation, the NDN-IP gateway are needed to map and forward the data from IP-based network to NDN-based network, and vice versa. These gateways are called Custom-Router Gateway in this study. The Custom-Router Gateway requires a new mechanism in conducting Digital Signature so that authenticity the data can be verified when it passes through the NDN-IP Custom-Router Gateway. This study propose a method to process the Digital Signature for the packet flows from IP-based network through NDN-based network. Future studies are needed to determine the impact of Digital Signature processing on the performance in forwarding the data from IP-based to NDN-based network and vice versa.

Silva, B., Sabino, A., Junior, W., Oliveira, E., Júnior, F., Dias, K..  2017.  Performance Evaluation of Cryptography on Middleware-Based Computational Offloading. 2017 VII Brazilian Symposium on Computing Systems Engineering (SBESC). :205–210.
Mobile cloud computing paradigm enables cloud servers to extend the limited hardware resources of mobile devices improving availability and reliability of the services provided. Consequently, private, financial, business and critical data pass through wireless access media exposed to malicious attacks. Mobile cloud infrastructure requires new security mechanisms, at the same time as offloading operations need to maintain the advantages of saving processing and energy of the device. Thus, this paper implements a middleware-based computational offloading with cryptographic algorithms and evaluates two mechanisms (symmetric and asymmetric), to provide the integrity and authenticity of data that a smartphone offloads to mobile cloud servers. Also, the paper discusses the factors that impact on power consumption and performance on smartphones that's run resource-intensive applications.
