Lee, Dongseop, Kim, Hyunjin, Ryou, Jaecheol.  2020.  Poisoning Attack on Show and Tell Model and Defense Using Autoencoder in Electric Factory. 2020 IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp). :538–541.
Recently, deep neural network technology has been developed and used in various fields. The image recognition model can be used for automatic safety checks at the electric factory. However, as the deep neural network develops, the importance of security increases. A poisoning attack is one of security problems. It is an attack that breaks down by entering malicious data into the training data set of the model. This paper generates adversarial data that modulates feature values to different targets by manipulating less RGB values. Then, poisoning attacks in one of the image recognition models, the show and tell model. Then use autoencoder to defend adversarial data.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is one of the major threats to the network services. In this paper, we propose a DDoS attack detection algorithm based on the probability distributions of source IP addresses and destination IP addresses. According to the behavior of source and destination IP addresses during DDoS attack, the distance between these features is calculated and used.It is calculated with using the Greedy algorithm which eliminates some requirements associated with Kullback-Leibler divergence such as having the same rank of the probability distributions. Then frequency modulation is proposed in the detection phase to reduce false alarm rates and to avoid using static threshold. This algorithm is tested on the real data collected from Boğaziçi University network.

Networks established among nanomachines, also called nanonetworks, are crucial since, a single nanomachine most likely cannot handle task by itself. At the nano scale, electromagnetic waves lose their effectiveness. Molecular communication via diffusion (MCvD) is a new concept that aims to solve this problem. Information is carried out by either the type of molecules, or their concentration. The robustness of this communication method, as in the example of classical communication, is very important. Channel coding is the component that make communication less erroneous. If the desired error performance is high, channel coding is mandatory. In this paper, the performance of Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) and Reed-Solomon (RS) codes for MCvD are evaluated by simulation and results are analyzed.

Kılın\c c, H. H., Acar, O. F..  2018.  Analysis of Attack and Attackers on VoIP Honeypot Environment. 2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU). :1-4.

This work explores attack and attacker profiles using a VoIP-based Honeypot. We implemented a low interaction honeypot environment to identify the behaviors of the attackers and the services most frequently used. We watched honeypot for 180 days and collected 242.812 events related to FTP, SIP, MSSQL, MySQL, SSH, SMB protocols. The results provide an in-depth analysis about both attacks and attackers profile, their tactics and purposes. It also allows understanding user interaction with a vulnerable honeypot environment.

With the recent advances in information and communication technology, Web and Mobile Internet applications have become a part of our daily lives. These developments have also emerged Information Security concept due to the necessity of protecting information of institutions from Internet attackers. There are many security approaches to provide information security in Enterprise applications. However, using only one of these approaches may not be efficient enough to obtain security. This paper describes a Multi-Layered Framework of implementing two-factor and single sign-on authentication together. The proposed framework generates unique one-time passwords (OTP), which are used to authenticate application data. Nevertheless, using only OTP mechanism does not meet security requirements. Therefore, implementing a separate authentication application which has single sign-on capability is necessary.

We propose a method for transferring an arbitrary style to only a specific object in an image. Style transfer is the process of combining the content of an image and the style of another image into a new image. Our results show that the proposed method can realize style transfer to specific object.
