USB flash drives are used widely to store or transfer data among the employees in the company. There was greater concern about leaks of information especially company crown jewel or intellectual property data inside the USB flash drives because of theft, loss, negligence or fraud. This study is a real case in XYZ company which aims to find remaining the company’s crown jewel or intellectual property data inside the USB flash drives that belong to the employees. The research result showed that sensitive information (such as user credentials, product recipes and customer credit card data) could be recovered from the employees’ USB flash drives. It could obtain a high-risk impact on the company as reputational damage and sabotage product from the competitor. This result will help many companies to increase security awareness in protecting their crown jewel by having proper access control and to enrich knowledge regarding digital forensic for investigation in the company or enterprise.

Autonomous robots are increasingly widespread in our society. These robots need to be safe, reliable, respectful of privacy, not manipulable by external agents, and capable of offering explanations of their behavior in order to be accountable and acceptable in our societies. Companies offering robotic services will need to provide mechanisms to address these issues using High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities, where logs and off-line forensic analysis could be addressed if required, but these solutions are still not available in software development frameworks for robots. The aim of this paper is to discuss the implications and interactions among cybersecurity, safety, and explainability with the goal of making autonomous robots more trustworthy.

These days, almost everyone has been entirely relying on mobile devices and mobile related applications running on Android Operating Systems, the most used Mobile Operating System in the world with the largest market share. These Mobile devices and applications can become an information goldmine for hackers and are considered one of the significant concerns mobile users face who stand a chance of being victimized during data breach from hackers due to lapse in information security and controls. Such challenge can be put to bare through systematic digital forensic analysis through penetration testing for a humanoid robot like Zenbo, which run Android OS and related application, to help identify associated security vulnerabilities and develop controls required to improve security using popular penetration testing tools such as Drozer, Mobile Application Security framework (mobSF), and AndroBugs with the help of Santoku Linux distribution.

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency whose transactions are recorded in a common ledger, so called blockchain. Due to the anonymity and lack of law enforcement, Bitcoin has been misused in darknet markets which deal with illegal products, such as drugs and weapons. Therefore from the security forensics aspect, it is demanded to establish an approach to identify newly emerged darknet markets' transactions and addresses. In this paper, we thoroughly analyze Bitcoin transactions and addresses related to darknet markets and propose a novel identification method of darknet markets' addresses. To improve the identification performance, we propose a voting based method which decides the labels of multiple addresses controlled by the same user based on the number of the majority label. Through the computer simulation with more than 200K Bitcoin addresses, it was shown that our voting based method outperforms the nonvoting based one in terms of precision, recal, and F1 score. We also found that DNM's addresses pay higher fees than others, which significantly improves the classification.

The safety of industrial control systems (ICS) depends not only on comprehensive solutions for protecting information, but also on the timing and closure of vulnerabilities in the software of the ICS. The investigation of security incidents in the ICS is often greatly complicated by the fact that malicious software functions only within the computer's volatile memory. Obtaining the contents of the volatile memory of an attacked computer is difficult to perform with a guaranteed reliability, since the data collection procedure must be based on a reliable code (the operating system or applications running in its environment). The paper proposes a new instrumental method for obtaining the contents of volatile memory, general rules for implementing the means of collecting information stored in memory. Unlike software methods, the proposed method has two advantages: firstly, there is no problem in terms of reading the parts of memory, blocked by the operating system, and secondly, the resulting contents are not compromised by such malicious software. The proposed method is relevant for investigating security incidents of ICS and can be used in continuous monitoring systems for the security of ICS.
