Salehi, Majid, Hughes, Danny, Crispo, Bruno.  2019.  MicroGuard: Securing Bare-Metal Microcontrollers against Code-Reuse Attacks. 2019 IEEE Conference on Dependable and Secure Computing (DSC). :1–8.
Bare-metal microcontrollers are a family of Internet of Things (IoT) devices which are increasingly deployed in critical industrial environments. Similar to other IoT devices, bare-metal microcontrollers are vulnerable to memory corruption and code-reuse attacks. We propose MicroGuard, a novel mitigation method based on component-level sandboxing and automated code randomization to securely encapsulate application components in isolated environments. We implemented MicroGuard and evaluated its efficacy and efficiency with a real-world benchmark against different types of attacks. As our evaluation shows, MicroGuard provides better security than ACES, current state-of-the-art protection framework for bare-metal microcontrollers, with a comparable performance overhead.

Kubo, Ryogo.  2018.  Detection and Mitigation of False Data Injection Attacks for Secure Interactive Networked Control Systems. 2018 IEEE International Conference on Intelligence and Safety for Robotics (ISR). :7-12.

Cybersecurity in control systems has been actively discussed in recent years. In particular, networked control systems (NCSs) over the Internet are exposed to various types of cyberattacks such as false data injection attacks. This paper proposes a detection and mitigation method of the false data injection attacks in interactive NCSs, i.e., bilateral teleoperation systems. A bilateral teleoperation system exchanges position and force information through the Internet between the master and slave robots. The proposed method utilizes two redundant communication channels for both the master-to-slave and slave-to-master paths. The attacks are detected by a tamper detection observer (TDO) on each of the master and slave sides. The TDO compares the position responses of actual robots and robot models. A path selector on each side chooses the appropriate position and force responses from the responses received through the two communication channels, based on the outputs of the TDO. The proposed method is validated by simulations with attack models.

Mohan, K Manju.  2018.  An Efficient system to stumble on and Mitigate DDoS attack in cloud Environment. 2018 Second International Conference on Inventive Communication and Computational Technologies (ICICCT). :1855–1857.
Cloud computing is an assured progression inside the future of facts generation. It's far a sub-domain of network security. These days, many huge or small organizations are switching to cloud which will shop and arrange their facts. As a result, protection of cloud networks is the want of the hour. DDoS is a killer software for cloud computing environments on net today. It is a distributed denial of carrier. we will beat the ddos attacks if we have the enough assets. ddos attacks can be countered by means of dynamic allocation of the assets. In this paper the attack is detected as early as possible and prevention methods is done and also mitigation method is also implemented thus attack can be avoided before it may occur.
