We investigate a compressive sampling (CS) stepped frequency ground penetrating radar for detection of underground objects, which uses Bayesian estimation and a probabilistic model for the target support. Due to the underground targets being sparse, the B-scan is a sparse image. Using the CS principle, the stepped frequency radar is implemented using a subset of random frequencies at each antenna position. For image reconstruction we use Markov Chain and Markov Random Field models for the target support in the B-scan, where we also estimate the model parameters using the Expectation Maximization algorithm. The approach is tested using Web radar data obtained by measuring the signal responses scattered off land mine targets in a laboratory experimental setup. Our approach results in improved performance compared to the standard denoising algorithm for image reconstruction.

In order to overcome the problem of edge information loss in the process of neural network processing, a method of neural network style transfer based on edge detection is presented. The edge information of the content image is extracted, and the edge information image is processed in the neural network together with the content image and the style image to constrain the edge information of the content image. Compared with Gatys algorithm and markov random field neural network algorithm, the content image edge structure after image style transfer is successfully retained.

Lin Chen, Lu Zhou, Chunxue Liu, Quan Sun, Xiaobo Lu.  2014.  Occlusive vehicle tracking via processing blocks in Markov random field. Progress in Informatics and Computing (PIC), 2014 International Conference on. :294-298.

The technology of vehicle video detecting and tracking has been playing an important role in the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) field during recent years. The occlusion phenomenon among vehicles is one of the most difficult problems related to vehicle tracking. In order to handle occlusion, this paper proposes an effective solution that applied Markov Random Field (MRF) to the traffic images. The contour of the vehicle is firstly detected by using background subtraction, then numbers of blocks with vehicle's texture and motion information are filled inside each vehicle. We extract several kinds of information of each block to process the following tracking. As for each occlusive block two groups of clique functions in MRF model are defined, which represents spatial correlation and motion coherence respectively. By calculating each occlusive block's total energy function, we finally solve the attribution problem of occlusive blocks. The experimental results show that our method can handle occlusion problems effectively and track each vehicle continuously.
