A tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor-level is available at Virginia Tech. The focus area of the search is distributed computing, broadly defined, and includes parallelism and concurrency, in settings including multicore architectures, clusters, and geographically distributed systems. Both theory and systems work are in scope. Systems work in these spaces at abstractions including middleware, compilers, languages, run-times, and OS are desirable. Candidates with background in both theory and systems are particularly sought.
