AbstractThe energy sector is facing increasing risks, mainly concerning fraudulent activities and cyberattacks. This paradigm shift in risks would require innovative solutions. This paper proposes an innovative architecture based on Distributed Ledger Technologies (Blockchain) and Triple Entry Accounting (X-Accounting). The proposed architecture focusing on new applications of payment and billing would improve accountability and compliance as well as security and reliability. Future research can extend this architecture to other energy technologies and systems like EMS/SCADA and associated applications.
