The 2014 ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security was held in the city of Scottsdale, Arizona, USA on November 3-7. The ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) is the flagship annual conference of the Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (SIGSAC) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The conference brings together information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users from all over the world to explore cutting-edge ideas and results.

Computer security is concerned with the protection of information in environments where there is a possibility of intrusion or malicious action. The aim of ESORICS is to further the progress of research in computer security by establishing a European forum for bringing together researchers in this area, by promoting the exchange of ideas with system developers and by encouraging links with researchers in related areas. Progressively organised in a series of European countries, the symposium is confirmed as the European research event in computer security.

This one-day workshop was designed for researchers who aspired to participate in NSF's Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program. The workshop was by invitation or application, and was open to people with research interests in secure and trustworthy computing who were not currently funded by SaTC or any of its predecessor programs (Trustworthy Computing and/or Cyber Trust).

The Computer Security Foundations Symposium (CSF) is an annual conference for researchers in computer security, to examine current theories of security, the formal models that provide a context for those theories, and techniques for verifying security. It was created in 1988 as a workshop of the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Security and Privacy, in response to a 1986 essay by Don Good entitled "The Foundations of Computer Security--We Need Some." The meeting became a "symposium" in 2007, along with a policy for open, increased attendance.

Symposium On Usable Privacy and Security

SOUPS brings together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and practitioners in human computer interaction, security, and privacy. The program features technical papers, workshops and tutorials, a poster session, panels and invited talks, and lightning talks.

The 2014 IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy was held in San Jose, California on May 18-21. The 2014 Symposium marked the 35th annual meeting of this flagship conference. Since 1980, the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy has been the premier forum for presenting developments in computer security and electronic privacy, and for bringing together researchers and practitioners in the field.

Eurocrypt 2014 was the 33rd Annual International Conference on the Theory and Applications of Cryptographic Techniques. It was devoted to all aspects of cryptology. Eurocrypt 2014 is one of the three flagship conferences of International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), and was organized by the Crypto Group at DTU Compute. The conference was held on May 11 - 15, 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN) has pioneered the fusion between dependability and security research, understanding the need to simultaneously fight against accidental faults, intentional cyber-attacks, design errors, and unexpected operating conditions. DSN is also providing a fruitful ground for academia and industry interaction.

ASIACRYPT 2013 was an international conference for all technical aspects of cryptology. ASIACRYPT 2013 was organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) in cooperation with the technical group on Information Security (ISEC) of Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, and the Computer Security group (CSEC) of Information Processing Society of Japan. ASIACRYPT 2013 was held on December 1-5, 2013 in Bangalore, India.

The 16th International Symposium on Research in Attacks, Intrusions and Defenses, previously known as Recent Advances in Intrusion Detection, will be held in St. Lucia, October 23-25, 2013.

This symposium brings together leading researchers and practitioners from academia, government, and industry to discuss novel security problems, solutions and technologies related to intrusion detection, attacks and defenses.

As with prior summits, the event was invite-only, but inclusive of the NSF CI community, free-to-attend, and targeted at those with leadership, management, and security responsibilities in NSF CI and MREFC projects. Additionally, we included key members of the research community (to better disseminate NSF CI cybersecurity needs and foster transition of their research to practice through CI projects), as well as selected invitees from outside the NSF community.
