Call for Papers Now Open - Design of Medical Devices Conference with Journal Publication
2015 Call for Papers
Submissions Now Being Accepted
The conference seeks original two-page papers that demonstrate new technologies and applications in the field of medical device design. Submissions from academic and industry researchers, clinicians and practitioners are encouraged. The paper should present an unbiased description of an experiment, product or business method related to medical devices. Detailed author instructions are found on the Call for Papers section of the conference web site.
The conference will accept submissions for the following technical tracks:
TRK 1: Cardiovascular
TRK 2: Neuroengineering
TRK 3: Orthopedics
TRK 4: Urologic
TRK 5: Rehabilitation
TRK 6: Engineered Tissues
TRK 7: MEMS and Nano
TRK 8: Surgical Tools
TRK 9: Computer Modeling and Simulation
TRK 10: Design and Human Factors
TRK 11: Medical Device Product Development Process
TRK 12: Regulatory and Intellectual Property
TRK 13: Special Devices
TRK 14: Informatics
Authors of accepted papers will be invited to present at the conference scientific poster session on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Accepted papers will also be published as a two-page Technical Brief in the ASME Journal of Medical Devices. Conference registration and participation in the conference poster session is required for publication of the paper.
Publication Schedule:
August 11, 2014- Submission via ASME DMD Conference Toolbox opens.
November 9, 2014- 2-page Technical Brief due (Required Template)
week of December 31, 2014- Reviews completed and authors will be notified of acceptance & revisions needed
January 27, 2015- Final 2-page Technical Briefs and Permission to Publish Forms due
In addition to the poster presentation ten accepted papers will be invited to compete in the Three-in-Five Competition and a number of authors may be invited to present their work in one of the DMD Conference's "Advances in Medical Devices" technical sessions.
