Post-doctoral research position in Real-Time Systems @ University of Pennsylvania
The Real-Time Systems Group (http://rtg.cis.upenn.edu) in the PRECISE Center (http://precise.seas.upenn.edu) at the University of Pennsylvania (http://www.upenn.edu) has an opening for a post-doctoral researcher in the field of real-time systems, cyber-physical systems and real-time virtualization. The group is conducting research in the areas of compositional real-time scheduling, real-time virtual machine implementation, and human-in-the-loop cyber-physical systems that provide system-level guarantees in terms of timing, safety, and control performance.
The post-doctoral position is for research on topics related to formal theoretical modeling and analysis methods, scheduling and resource management techniques, and tools/prototypes for the component-based development of real-time systems and cyber-physical systems. The Real-Time Systems Group offers a creative and collaborative international environment for highly competitive research, with great opportunities to cooperate with other research groups and industry partners. The responsibilities of the position include successful research in the emerging field of multicore and distributed real-time systems and cyber-physical systems, as well as active participation in research projects and interacting with a group of Ph.D. students.
Qualifications:
The qualifications required for the position include familiarity with recent advances in the areas of real-time systems, cyber-physical systems, and formal methods. In-depth knowledge in at least one area in multi-resource real-time scheduling and resource-aware interfaces for multicore and distributed architectures, virtualization technology, safety analysis and control theory is highly necessary. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree in a field that is closely related to real-time systems and should have a track record in conducting original scientific research and publishing quality results in top conferences and scientific journals.
The position will be initially offered for one year, which we fully expect to be renewable for two additional years.
Application:
Interested applications should be submitted by email to any of
Insup Lee (lee@cis.upenn.edu),
Linh Phan (linhphan@cis.upenn.edu), and
Oleg Sokolsky (sokolsky@cis.upenn.edu).
The application must contain a research statement, a CV, the names of at least two references, and relevant additional documents, such as most related research papers.
