Highlights from the Tech Jam's Agenda

Ignite-style presentations from 20+ existing GCTC Action Clusters including:

• Autonomous vehicles deployment in 9 cities around the world
• Creating an adhoc WiFi network at the time of disaster using drones in North Central Texas
• Remotely caring for our most vulnerable citizens in-place during a pandemic
• Deploying sensors in over 170 locations in lower Manhattan NYC and provide real-time data for air quality, noise level, and traffic patterns
• Integrating Smart Street infrastructure in Washington DC, including lights, CCTV, Parking, Signage and Env. Sensing
• Bringing Internet of Things Know-How to High School Students in Arlington VA, Baltimore, Portland OR

Invited presentations from national and international thought-leaders including, Jon Bruner, O'Reilly Media & Co-Chair of Solid Con 2015, Dan Correa, Senior Advisor of Innovation Policy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Bram Reinders, Amsterdam Smart City.

Networking opportunities for folks new to GCTC to meet with current GCTC participants and to work with other organizations new to GCTC in order to discuss forming additional action clusters.

About the Global City Teams Challenge

Through the Challenge, representatives of companies, local governments, universities, and non-profit organizations will form teams with a focus on particular smart city goals or challenges. Participants in the Challenge volunteer to work collaboratively on specific issues such as transportation, disaster response, energy, healthcare, and others.

Attendance at the event is free of charge. The event is held at a secure government facility, so advanced registration is required. Funding for Connected Vehicle Research

The US Dept of Transportation will address the Tech Jam with respect to a recently released Connected Vehicles
pre-solicitation.

DoT & NIST encourage organizations planning to respond the DoT solicitation to consider participation in the GCTC as a means to refine their applications and develop partnerships with stakeholders.
