General Information

The IEEE(*) International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions gathers participants from academia and industry working in the field of autonomous robotics and related areas. It is organized within the 15th Portuguese Robotics Open, a RoboCup- sponsored local event. The conference will be held at the University of Tras-os-Montes e Alto-Douro (UTAD) in Vila Real, Portugal, on April 8-10, 2015.

UTAD is a young university that spawn from the previous Vila Real Polytechnic Institute in 1986. Vila Real is at the heart of the Port Wine producing region in the north of Portugal, approximately 100km inland from Porto. It is also the town of the Mateus palace that became world famous in the labels of the Mateus Rose wine bottles. It is very well served by several highways being easily reachable from Porto by bus.

The conference started as the meeting point of the Portuguese community working on Mobile Robotics Competitions and soon grew to an open international event to share related research work.

ICARSC has long been an IEEE co-sponsored event and its proceedings have recently been indexed in IEEExplore and in Scopus. Moreover, similarly to previous editions, a special section in a specialized journal will be set up to accommodate the publication of extended versions of selected papers, namely the Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems from Springer, an ISI indexed journal.

This year the conference will particularly seek cutting-edge research works on Agricultural Robotics.

(*) IEEE co-sponsorship pending.

Submission Guidelines

The working language is English, only. Authors are invited to submit original research contributions electronically, in PDF format, via EasyChair:

Submitted papers should be up to six pages in total, in the IEEE conference format, following the standard IEEE guidelines.

Reviewing for ICARSC 2015 will be *double blind* so authors must remove their names from the submitted papers and should take reasonable care not to indirectly disclose their identity.

Accepted papers will be scheduled for presentation, which requires that at least one of the authors must register at the Conference and present the paper. Failure to meet this requirement will imply removing the paper from the online version of the proceedings.
