Hello All -

We have several exciting updates on the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) Festival in Washington, DC on June 1, 2015, a culminating event of the highly successful Smart City/Internet of Things (IoT) program launched in August 2014.

The GCTC Festival Agenda includes:

  • A special visit by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Royal Couple will kick-off a European-focused plenary session that showcases European and American Smart City / IoT projects. The Royal Couple will also tour a number of Dutch and American exhibits at the Festival.
  • Exciting keynotes from thought-leaders and agencies from within the US Government, including Thomas Kalil, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
  • Presentations and exhibitions from over 45 project teams - with cities including New York NY, Chicago IL, San Francisco CA, Portland OR, Austin TX, Charlotte NC, Chattanooga TN, Columbus OH, Flagstaff AZ, Kansas City MO, and Washington DC.
  • Great opportunities to speak face-to-face with members of GCTC teams pursuing cutting-edge projects related to the use of Smart City and IoT applications to advance disaster response, energy efficiency, remote healthcare, public safety, effective transportation and urban planning.
