Full Professor Position (W3) in Embedded Systems / Real-time Systems

in the Institute of Embedded Systems / Real-time Systems.

The research focus of this professorship should be on foundations, methods, and tool support for embedded systems. This includes but is not limited to topics like compiler support for hardware/software interfaces, adaptive hardware/software systems, energy-efficient computing, model-based design of embedded systems or security in embedded systems. All these topics offer a broad range of cooperation opportunities within our faculty.

Applicants for this position should have an excellent track record in the field proven by top-class publications. The successful candidate should strengthen one or more research focuses of the faculty, especially automotive systems and software-intensive adaptive systems, but may also contribute to technical aspects of cognitive technical systems and the SFB/TRR 62. Opportunities for collaboration with other faculties of the university and with industry are a plus. Demonstrated success in the acquisition of research funding and in the implementation of strong national and international research collaborations is expected.

We seek an individual with a passion for teaching who is qualified to offer instruction in our computer science programs both at the B.Sc. and M.Sc. level. Basic-level instruction is offered in German so the applicant should express willingness to quickly learn the language. We expect strong teaching skills, documented, for example, by excellent teaching evaluations or participation in didactics courses.

The successful candidate will be appointed vice-director of the Institute of Embedded Systems / Real-time Systems. Active participation in the faculty's self administration is required.

Conditions for appointment are a completed course of studies at a university, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate degree, as well as additional academic achievements (SS 47 LHG).
