FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

14th IFAC Symposium on Control in Transportation Systems (CTS 2016)

Considering your research in related areas, we kindly invite you to the 14th IFAC Symposium on Control in Transportation Systems (CTS 2016) that will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on 18-20 May, 2016. Considering its unique integration of historical, cultural and architectural masterpieces that reflect the meeting of Europe and Asia for many centuries, Istanbul, which is historically known as Byzantium and Constantinople, is specially chosen as the conference venue. In harmony with the history of Istanbul, the symposium will be held at the centrally located Taskisla campus of Istanbul Technical University at Taksim, which is one of the tourist attraction centers in Istanbul. A full social program and a very interesting technical program for the participants are also organized.

Note that extended versions of selected papers will be considered to be published in a special issue of the IFAC journal of Control Engineering Practice.

The main objective of this symposium is to bring together researchers from all over the world and lead to knowledge exchange on the state of the art in control and automation techniques used in transportation systems. The symposium is sponsored by the IFAC Technical Committee TC 7.4 (Transportation Systems) and co-sponsored by IFAC Technical Committees TC 7.1 (Automotive Control), TC 7.2 (Marine Systems), TC 7.3 (Aerospace), and TC 7.5 (Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles). The topics covered are (but not restricted to),

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems
  • Automated Highway Systems / Motorway Traffic Control
  • Intelligent/Automated Vehicles
  • Ramp Metering and Speed Limit Control
  • Modeling, Control and Optimization of Transportation Systems
  • Traffic Light Control
  • Sensor Technologies for Control in Transportation
  • Control of Networked Vehicles in Transportation
  • Cooperative Systems in Transportation
  • Weigh in Motion
  • Public Transportation
  • Freight Transportation: Control, Optimization, Routing etc
