Justifiable Confidence? Making Software Dependable
Presented as part of the 2007 HCSS conference.
Abstract
A study by a National Academies' Computer Science and Telecommunications Board committee on software dependability has been completed and will be published in May 2007. The report discusses the meaning of dependability in a software and systems context, illustrates how the growing use and complexity of software necessitates a different approach to ensuring dependability, and recommends an approach to achieving justifiable confidence in and greater dependability of software.
