Has anyone faced difficulties with controlling the motors using the Pixhawk? We were able to control the motors using another reciever and transmitter, but have had troubles with doing so through the 3DR Pixhawk. We know that the DX7 transmitter is connected to the Pixhawk as we are able to see the main LED change when switching flight modes, however when we try to apply throttle, nothing happens.

Re: Issue with Pixhawk output to ESCs

Hi,

Can you tell me a bit more on what you have connected so far? Did you calibrate the Pixhawk sensors using QGroundControl? Are you able to arm and control the motors using another RC transmitter/receiver but not the DX7?

Before you can arm and control the motors, you also need to press the safety switch. Is that connected?

We have connected the Pixhawk

We have connected the Pixhawk to the ESCs. The Pixhawk has also been calibrated through QGroundControl. Using another transmitter (Not the DX7) and a different receiver, we could arm and control the motors.

In regards to the safety switch, should it be held or just pressed? And at what point in the setup should it be pressed, for example, after both the transmitter and pixhawk have been powered on but before applying throttle? Or perhaps at the same time as the pixhawk is connected to power?

The safety switch should be

The safety switch should be pressed prior to arming with joystick. To arm with joystick thereafter, stick the throttle stick down-right. Few things to check:

1) Are you using ONLY the remote receiver as shown here? https://pixhawk.org/_media/peripherals/radio-control/spektrum_dx8_pairing.jpg?w=300&tok=2308fa

2) Is the binding done correctly? Can you see the response of RC transmitter on QGroundcontrol?

3) Is the mode-switch mapping done properly? Best is to ensure the mode is 'manual' before arming. You can verify this on QGroundControl through mode status, and error messages in repsonse to arming attempt.

Let's plan a teleconf if you need further guidance.
