Mobile Sensing 2012
The maturing field of mobile sensing continues to undergoing rapid changes. Only a few years ago researchers were limited to using purpose-built wearable sensor prototypes. Today, mainstream consumer smartphones have comparable sensing capabilities, and are able to recognize a wide variety of human behavior and context. Similarly, the scale and richness of mobile sensor data being collected and analyzed is steadily increasing - the availability of big sensor data is promoting research beyond personal-scale sensing to include the sensing of entire communities and beyond.
This workshop seeks to bring together experts in mobile sensing drawn from both academic institutions and industry laboratories. The workshop aims to facilitate the open exchange of ideas between attendees, and provide a venue for sharing state-of-the-art mobile sensing research results.
