Assistant Professor in Cyber-Physical-Social Systems
The School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level beginning in August 2017. We seek a passionate individual who will contribute to the School's growing research program in cyber-physical-social systems, particularly infrastructure and community resilience, interdependent networks, and smart cities. The desired research and teaching areas of interest include analytics, system modeling and optimization, and simulation to address challenges in infrastructure risk, community resilience, emergency response, humanitarian logistics, or human response to disasters, among other related applications.
This position is of importance to the University for several reasons, including

The Gallogly College of Engineering has listed (i) resilient systems and (ii) data science and analytics as two strategic initiatives

The OU School of ISE has current large-scale funded research activity dealing with infrastructure and community resilience with projects funded by NSF and NIST

OU's National Institute for Risk and Resilience stretches across campus with on-going projects dealing with (i) national lab-funded big data analysis and (ii) community-driven infrastructure assessment

Other collaboration opportunities exist with the renowned OU School of Meteorology and related centers, as well as with colleagues in computer science, engineering, and social science, among others
