Special issue of the Journal of Sensor and Actuator Networks (JSAN) on

"Quality-of-Service in Wireless Sensor/Actuator Networks and Systems"

http://www.mdpi.com/journal/jsan/special_issues/QoS_netw_syst.

This special issue targets RTD contributions on wireless sensor/actuator networks (WSANs) and systems, with special focus on their Quality-of-Service (QoS) properties (hopefully in combination) such as reliability & robustness, timeliness & real-time, scalability, mobility, security & privacy and energy efficiency & sustainability.

We seek for works that have been sufficiently matured, tested and evaluated, either through analytical, simulation and/or experimental models. Application/system-oriented papers are welcome, namely when more stringent QoS trade-offs are at stake, e.g. in industrial automation, process control, smart health, structural monitoring, building automation or homeland security scenarios.

Manuscripts may report new RTD contributions or may also be position or survey papers. The submission deadline is planned for the end of March 2017.

Several papers from invited top-notch experts are planned to appear, thus attracting lots of attention and boosting citations for this special issue.

The JSAN is an open access journal that has recently been accepted for coverage by the new index of Web of Science "Emerging Source Citation Index", meaning that it will be indexed by "Science Citation Index Expanded" and receive an Impact Factor soon. The JSAN Editorial Office informs that, according to CrossRef data, the Impact Factor (IF) for 2016 (2016 citations to papers published in 2014 or 2015) is around 1.00 - deriving from 485 citations for 99 published items to date.
