ICCPS 2017: Call for WiP/Demo/Poster Abstracts
CALL FOR WiP ABSTRACTS, DEMOS and POSTERS
19th International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems (ICCPS 2017)
January 13-14, 2017 | Zurich, Switzerland | https://www.waset.org/conference/2017/01/zurich/ICCPS
ICCPS 2017 seeks high-quality technical abstracts, demos, and posters describing work-in-progress in the area of cyber-physical systems (CPS), including preliminary work on theory, platform design and implementation, verification and validation, empirical case studies, and other work that has potential to advance the state of the art in CPS. Authors of each accepted abstract will give a brief presentation at the WiP session, and may also give a demo and/or have a poster afterward.
Focus Areas: ICCPS 2017 work-in-progress abstracts, demos, and posters are encouraged to focus on either of two main areas of interest: CPS foundations (the traditional focus of ICCPS), or secure and resilient infrastructure CPS (the focus of the former HiCoNS conference). The CPS foundations (CPSF) area focuses on core science and technology for developing fundamental principles and platforms that underpin the integration of cyber and physical elements. Application domains include transportation, energy, water, agriculture, ecology, supply-chains, medical and assistive technology, sensor and social networks, and robotics. Relevant topics include, but are are not limited to: security of cyber-physical systems (CPS), control and/or optimization of CPS, machine learning, data mining/analytics, and/or game theory applied to CPS, mechanism design for CPS, model-based design and verification of CPS, mobile and cloud computing for CPS, signal processing for CPS, and human-in-the-loop shared or supervisory control of CPS. The secure and resilient infrastructure CPS (HiCoNS) area focuses specifically on the confluence of cyber-security, privacy, and CPS that impacts the operation of critical infrastructures such as smart grids, water distribution, transportation, healthcare, building automation, and process control. Of particular interest is foundational work that cuts across multiple application areas or advances scientific understanding of underlying principles for the development of high confidence (secure, reliable, robust, and trustworthy) networked CPS.
Abstract Submissions: All submitted abstracts must be in English and consist of a single page in PDF format following the CPS Week 2017 typesetting guidelines, which are posted at:
http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~lu/CPSWeek2017-Typesetting/
Submissions will be evaluated based on technical merit and innovation as well as their potential to stimulate interesting discussions and exchanges of ideas at the conference. Both academic and industrial submissions are encouraged. All accepted abstracts will be published in the ACM Digital Library as part of the ICCPS 2017 proceedings.
Submissions must be attached to an email sent by 11:59pm UTC-12 on Wednesday March 8, 2017 (FIRM) to both ICCPS 2017 Program co-Chairs, Chris Gill (cdgill@cse.wustl.edu) and Bruno Sinpooli (brunos@ece.cmu.edu) with the subject line: ICCPS 2017 WiP submission.
Posters and Demos
In addition to giving a brief presentation of the work, each accepted abstract will have the option of giving a demo or having a poster (or neither or both). The poster and demo session will provide a forum for researchers to showcase ongoing work and obtain feedback from the CPS community, in addition to the discussions at the WiP presentation session.
Authors wishing to give demos should clearly describe in their abstract what will be demonstrated and how the contributions will be illustrated interactively. If a demonstration requires wireless connectivity or other special arrangements (in addition to a table and power, which will be provided for each accepted demo), please describe them clearly in the abstract as well.
Authors who wish to have a poster should also mention that in the abstract, along with a brief summary of what the poster will show.
