CALL FOR PAPERS

Special Session on Cooperative and Dependable Wireless Cyber-Physical Systems

May 31 - June 2, 2017 | Trondheim, Norway | http://www.wfcs2017.org/

We would like to invite you to consider submitting a paper for the Special Session on "Cooperative and Dependable Wireless Cyber-Physical Systems" in the 13th IEEE International Workshop on Factory Communication Systems Communication in Automation, which will be held in Trondheim, Norway on May 31 - June 2, 2017.

More details about this Special Session available from:
http://wfcs2017.org/assets/pdf/SS/WFCS2017_cfp_ss_2.0.pdf

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission deadline: March 5, 2017
  • Notification for acceptance: April 16, 2017
  • Deadline for final manuscript: May 7, 2017
  • Conference: May 31 - June 2, 2017

AIMS AND SCOPE

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) tightly interact with the physical environment in an unprecedented ubiquitous and pervasive fashion, and hold the promise of a revolution in the way we perceive the world and interact with it. These are enabling new cooperative and decentralized solutions that are targeting several domains, and particularly in industrial automation enabling the Digital Factory of the Future (Industry 4.0). CPS are also increasingly finding their way into safety-critical applications such as cruise control, autonomous vehicles control, and flight control systems. In these systems, dependability and security are of the utmost importance. Also, challenges such as timeliness, robustness and security must also be addressed if these infrastructures are to become a reality.

This special session is a forum to bring together experts of industry and academia that work on the implementation of wireless CPS - together with their visions, techniques and results - to stimulate the creation of synergies on CPS, to facilitate the exchange of ideas for the creation of novel approaches, and to refine the current vision of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

  • Dependability in CPS (real-time, reliability, availability, safety, security);
  • Methodologies and tool chains for modelling and simulating CPS;
  • Emerging applications in CPS, including automotive, aerospace, railway, and maritime domains;
  • Self-organization and energy efficiency CPS;
  • Control and Optimization of CPS;
  • Networking systems for CPS applications.

SUBMISSION

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in PDF format, according to the instructions contained in the Conference web site. Contributions must contain original unpublished work. Papers that have been concurrently submitted to other conferences or journals (double submissions) will be automatically rejected.

Papers are to be submitted electronically in PDF format. Two types of submissions are solicited:

  • Long Papers - from 8 to 10 double-column pages.
  • Work-in-Progress Papers - limited to 4 double-column pages.

For further details, please consult the conference web pages.

PAPER ACCEPTANCE

Each accepted paper must be presented at the conference by one of the authors. The final manuscript must be accompanied by a registration form and a registration fee payment proof. All conference attendees, including authors and session chairpersons, must pay the conference registration fee, and their travel expenses.
