CFP INDIN'17 - SS Industry 4.0: Keeping Humans in the Loop and in Control
CALL FOR PAPERS
2017 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics (INDIN 2017)
Special Session on Industry 4.0: Keeping Humans in the Loop and in Control
July 24-26, 2017 | Emden, Germany | http://www.indin2017.i2ar.de
A next edition of the IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics will be organized in 2017. The conference will host the Special Session on "Industry 4.0: Keeping Humans in the Loop and in Control".
(see below for details). A good quality paper will be considered for publication in IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (I.F.=4.708), subject to further rounds of review.

AIM AND SCOPE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Industry 4.0 is coming. Industrial Internet of Things and other technologies exploiting distributed data sensing, gathering and analysis for autonomous decision making will soon enable a level of automation never seen before.
The challenge is whether human operators will be able to stay in the loop, keep control and efficiently interact with such dehumanized environments.
Human-system integration, in terms of both reduction of information loss in the human-machine interaction channel and improvement of reciprocal understanding between humans and systems, is still to be explored in the Factory Automation area.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring human integration in factory automation: advanced interaction technologies and design methodologies, augmented cognition, and innovative data visualization
- Smart human interaction with networked smart objects in factory automation
- Intelligent and reliable data fusion and analysis for autonomous and semi-autonomous decision making
- Collaboration among connected objects for human safety enforcement in Industry 4.0
- Approaches, paradigms, tools, and devices for advanced interfaces between operators and machines dedicated to data visualization and control
- Interfaces for CCCC (Command, Control, Communications & Countermeasures) in the factory domain
- Ontologies and formal descriptions of intelligent systems and smart processes

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the instructions for paper submission are included in the conference website

VENUE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The workshop will take place in the beautiful "Schloss Rheinfels"
hotel at St. Goar, Germany. Schloss Rheinfels is a castle at one of the nicest places within the Rhine valley, itself a world heritage site. Among a set of hotels focusing on wellness, the hotel is voted yearly as being part of the top 3 conference hotels in Germany. There is a beautiful view from the hotel onto the river Rhine.
