CfP: 13th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC 2017)
CALL FOR PAPERS
13th European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC 2017)
Geneva, Switzerland | 4-8 September 2017 | http://edcc2017.unige.ch/
EDCC is an international conference for presenting and discussing the latest research in dependable and secure computing. EDCC provides a European-hosted venue for researchers and practitioners from all over the world to present and discuss their latest research results on dependability, security, fault-tolerance, testing, and other related topics. Original papers are solicited on theory, techniques, systems, and tools for the design, validation, operation and evaluation of dependable and secure computing systems. Papers dedicated to dependability and security in practice are also welcomed: industrial applications, experience in introducing dependability and security in industry, use of new or mature dependability and security approaches to new challenging problems or domains, etc.
EDCC 2017 will feature several tracks, including invited speakers, full paper presentations, fast abstracts, a student forum and a set of cutting-edge workshops.
TOPICS
The conference will cover a broad range of topics involving dependability and security, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Hardware and software architecture of dependable systems
- Dependable virtualisation
- VLSI dependability
- Dependability modelling and tools
- Testing and validation methods
- Fault-tolerant networks and protocols
- Dependability benchmarking
- Interplay between safety and security
- Critical infrastructure protection
- Safety critical systems
- Embedded and real-time systems
- Cyber-physical systems
- Cloud computing
- Dependable mobile and multimedia systems
- Autonomic and self-adaptive systems
- Socio-technical systems

- Camera Ready: 10 June 2017
PAPER CATEGORIES
EDCC 2017 is inviting submissions to its different tracks in the following categories:
Regular papers (up to 8 pages) solicited on theory, techniques, systems, and tools for the design, validation, operation and evaluation of dependable and secure computing systems, covering any fault model, from traditional hardware and software faults to accidental and malicious human interactions.
Practical experience reports (up to 6 pages) dedicated to dependability and security in practice: industrial applications, experience in introducing dependability in industry, use of new or mature dependability approaches to new challenging problems or domains, etc.
Short papers (3-4 pages) describing preliminary research work (position papers) or a prototype/tool description, outlining the design or implementation of a software tool, or the prototyping of an operational system.
All submissions must be made electronically through the EasyChair, and should clearly indicate in which category the paper is being submitted.

The proceedings of the conference will be published by the IEEE Conference Publishing Services (CPS).
JOURNAL SPECIAL ISSUE
Computing (Springer) journal has agreed to publish a special issue with extended versions of selected papers from EDCC 2017. Expected publication date May 2018.
DISTINGUISHED PAPERS
Submissions will be judged on originality, significance, correctness and impact. Three distinguished papers will be selected among accepted papers and presented in a dedicated session of the conference program. Full research papers and practical experience reports are eligible for the distinction.
