MINI's URBAN-X Accelerator Program Open to Start-Ups Participating in GCTC

URBAN-X is working with GCTC to support startups shaping the future of cities. The companies URBAN-X invests in are tackling some of the biggest issues facing 21st century cities- from mobility to the built environment, construction technology to autonomous infrastructure.
$100,000USD in up to 10 pre-seed teams will be invested each cohort. Selected teams benefit from a team of BMW/MINI engineers, designers, and industry experts in Brooklyn for a five month program consisting of regular coaching from the URBAN-X and Urban.Us investment and management team. URBAN-X helps teams build scalable businesses and find customers, and provides access to a top-tier network of service providers and mentors and then helps build relationships with the right investors to secure funding. After the program, the teams will be part of a vibrant community of startups, investors, city officials, big companies and tech experts who will continue to help you grow.
If you have a solution for a brighter urban life, let's talk. If your tech has the potential to transform commerce, mobility, real estate, energy, water, waste, food systems and more, Apply now. Applications for the April program close 1/31/18

The goal of kickoff conference is to encourage smart community/city and Internet of Things (IoT) stakeholders to build teams to address shared issues in various sectors such as transportation, public safety, utility, wireless, city data, agriculture & rural, and data governance/exchange. 2018 round will encourage participating teams to have additional focus on cybersecurity and privacy as the first order concern, as well as all existing GCTC goals such as replicability, scalability and sustainability.

  1. If you don't have an action cluster yet, but already working on smart solutions that can be replicated and scaled in cities and communities, please visit GCTC-SC3 Participation Guide to submit a worksheet and create a new action cluster.
  2. If you are an existing action cluster, you don't need to submit a full worksheet, but still need to submit the answers to the new question on cybersecurity and privacy in the worksheet.
  3. If you want to explore the possibilities to join, we will provide a partnership building opportunity led by professional facilitators. Feel free to attend.
  4. Anyone interested in IoT and smart cities/communities can attend.
