Trustworthy IoT and Cyber-physical Systems Positions_#12213
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU), the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (CIDSE) and the School of Engineering and Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE) seeks applicants for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Trustworthy IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems. Areas of interest include innovative concepts at the nexus of emphasis on Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems design, verification, resilience, safety, security and testbed design; Crypto algorithms and hardware implementation; wearable systems; sensor networking; low-power computing and communication. However, the originality and potential impact of the candidate's work has higher priority than the specific area of research.
CIDSE and ECEE includes faculty working on a variety of topics in computing and systems including the Center for Embedded Systems (https://fulton.sp10.asu.edu/cidse/CES/SitePages/Home.aspx), the Center for Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing (https://cubic.asu.edu/index), and the Center for Human, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotic Teaming. Extensive collaborations exist across the university, including with the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, the School of Arts, Media and Engineering and the Human Systems Engineering program. The current openings are intended to broaden this expertise and expand collaborations.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, informatics or related field and demonstrated evidence of excellence in research and teaching as appropriate to the candidate's rank. Desired qualifications include a record of acquiring external funding and publication in top-tier journals/conferences with real-world impact and a commitment to a trans-disciplinary approach to research and teaching.
Appointments will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2018.
Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and undertake service activities. ASU strongly encourages transdisciplinary collaboration and use-inspired, socially relevant research. Although the tenure home may be in any of the Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering, the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (CIDSE) is currently the most involved in the interest areas of this search.
