Tang, C., Fu, X., Tang, P..  2020.  Policy-Based Network Access and Behavior Control Management. 2020 IEEE 20th International Conference on Communication Technology (ICCT). :1102—1106.

Aiming at the requirements of network access control, illegal outreach control, identity authentication, security monitoring and application system access control of information network, an integrated network access and behavior control model based on security policy is established. In this model, the network access and behavior management control process is implemented through abstract policy configuration, network device and application server, so that management has device-independent abstraction, and management simplification, flexibility and automation are improved. On this basis, a general framework of policy-based access and behavior management control is established. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the method of device connection, data drive and fusion based on policy-based network access and behavior management control.

Zhang, Y., Weng, J., Ling, Z., Pearson, B., Fu, X..  2020.  BLESS: A BLE Application Security Scanning Framework. IEEE INFOCOM 2020 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications. :636—645.
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is a widely adopted wireless communication technology in the Internet of Things (IoT). BLE offers secure communication through a set of pairing strategies. However, these pairing strategies are obsolete in the context of IoT. The security of BLE based devices relies on physical security, but a BLE enabled IoT device may be deployed in a public environment without physical security. Attackers who can physically access a BLE-based device will be able to pair with it and may control it thereafter. Therefore, manufacturers may implement extra authentication mechanisms at the application layer to address this issue. In this paper, we design and implement a BLE Security Scan (BLESS) framework to identify those BLE apps that do not implement encryption or authentication at the application layer. Taint analysis is used to track if BLE apps use nonces and cryptographic keys, which are critical to cryptographic protocols. We scan 1073 BLE apps and find that 93% of them are not secure. To mitigate this problem, we propose and implement an application-level defense with a low-cost \$0.55 crypto co-processor using public key cryptography.

Gao, X., Fu, X..  2020.  Miniature Water Surface Garbage Cleaning Robot. 2020 International Conference on Computer Engineering and Application (ICCEA). :806—810.

In light of the problem for garbage cleaning in small water area, an intelligent miniature water surface garbage cleaning robot with unmanned driving and convenient operation is designed. Based on STC12C5A60S2 as the main controller in the design, power module, transmission module and cleaning module are controlled together to realize the function of cleaning and transporting garbage, intelligent remote control of miniature water surface garbage cleaning robot is realized by the WiFi module. Then the prototype is developed and tested, which will verify the rationality of the design. Compared with the traditional manual driving water surface cleaning devices, the designed robot realizes the intelligent control of unmanned driving, and achieves the purpose of saving human resources and reducing labor intensity, and the system operates security and stability, which has certain practical value.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a growing topic of interest along with 5G. Billions of IoT devices are expected to connect to the Internet in the near future. These devices differ from the traditional devices operated in the Internet. We observe that Information Centric Networking (ICN), is a more suitable architecture for the IoT compared to the prevailing IP basednetwork. However, we observe that recent works that propose to use ICN for IoT, either do not cover the need to integrate Sensor Networks with the Internet to realize IoT or do so inefficiently. Fog computing is a promising technology that has many benefits to offer especially for IoT. In this work, we discover a need to integrate various heterogeneous Sensor Networks with the Internet to realize IoT and propose FOGG: A Fog Computing Based Gateway to Integrate Sensor Networks to Internet. FOGG uses a dedicated device to function as an IoT gateway. FOGG provides the needed integration along with additional services like name/protocol translation, security and controller functionalities.
