Ahmad, Lina, Al-Sabha, Rania, Al-Haj, Ali.  2021.  Design and Implementation of a Secure QR Payment System Based on Visual Cryptography. 2021 7th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM). :40–44.
In this paper, we will describe the design and implementation of a secure payment system based on QR codes. These QR codes have been extensively used in recent years since they speed up the payment process and provide users with ultimate convenience. However, as convenient as they may sound, QR-based online payment systems are vulnerable to different types of attacks. Therefore, transaction processing needs to be secure enough to protect the integrity and confidentiality of every payment process. Moreover, the online payment system must provide authenticity for both the sender and receiver of each transaction. In this paper, the security of the proposed QR-based system is provided using visual cryptography. The proposed system consists of a mobile application and a payment gateway server that implements visual cryptography. The application provides a simple and user-friendly interface for users to carry out payment transactions in user-friendly secure environment.

Al-Haj, Ali, Farfoura, Mahmoud.  2019.  Providing Security for E-Government Document Images Using Digital Watermarking in the Frequency Domain. 2019 5th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM). :77—81.

Many countries around the world have realized the benefits of the e-government platform in peoples' daily life, and accordingly have already made partial implementations of the key e-government processes. However, before full implementation of all potential services can be made, governments demand the deployment of effective information security measures to ensure secrecy and privacy of their citizens. In this paper, a robust watermarking algorithm is proposed to provide copyright protection for e-government document images. The proposed algorithm utilizes two transforms: the Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) and the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed e-government document images watermarking algorithm performs considerably well compared to existing relevant algorithms.

Al-Haj, Ali, Aziz, Benjamin.  2019.  Enforcing Multilevel Security Policies in Database-Defined Networks using Row-Level Security. 2019 International Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys). :1-6.

Despite the wide of range of research and technologies that deal with the problem of routing in computer networks, there remains a gap between the level of network hardware administration and the level of business requirements and constraints. Not much has been accomplished in literature in order to have a direct enforcement of such requirements on the network. This paper presents a new solution in specifying and directly enforcing security policies to control the routing configuration in a software-defined network by using Row-Level Security checks which enable fine-grained security policies on individual rows in database tables. We show, as a first step, how a specific class of such policies, namely multilevel security policies, can be enforced on a database-defined network, which presents an abstraction of a network's configuration as a set of database tables. We show that such policies can be used to control the flow of data in the network either in an upward or downward manner.
