Encryption is essential for protecting sensitive data, especially images, against unauthorized access and exploitation. The goal of this work is to develop a more secure image encryption technique for image-based communication. The approach uses particle swarm optimization, chaotic map and magic square to offer an ideal encryption effect. This work introduces a novel encryption algorithm based on magic square. The image is first broken down into single-byte blocks, which are then replaced with the value of the magic square. The encrypted images are then utilized as particles and a starting assembly for the PSO optimization process. The correlation coefficient applied to neighboring pixels is used to define the ideal encrypted image as a fitness function. The results of the experiments reveal that the proposed approach can effectively encrypt images with various secret keys and has a decent encryption effect. As a result of the proposed work improves the public key method's security while simultaneously increasing memory economy.

Aiming at the problems of low accuracy and poor effect caused by the lack of data labels in most real network traffic, an optimized density peak clustering based on the improved salp swarm algorithm is proposed for traffic anomaly detection. Through the optimization of cosine decline and chaos strategy, the salp swarm algorithm not only accelerates the convergence speed, but also enhances the search ability. Moreover, we use the improved salp swarm algorithm to adaptively search the best truncation distance of density peak clustering, which avoids the subjectivity and uncertainty of manually selecting the parameters. The experimental results based on NSL-KDD dataset show that the improved salp swarm algorithm achieves faster convergence speed and higher precision, increases the average anomaly detection accuracy of 4.74% and detection rate of 6.14%, and reduces the average false positive rate of 7.38%.

Chinthavali, M., Starke, M., Moorthy, R..  2020.  An Intelligent Energy Router for Managing Behind-the-Meter Resources and Assets. 2020 IEEE Power Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT). :1–5.
With increase in distributed energy resources (DERs) and smart loads, each energy resource and load need a separate power conversion system leading to complex coordination and interaction, reduced energy conversion efficiency, coordinating compliance to grid standards (IEEE 1547) from multiple sources, reduced security. Also, multiple vendors with legacy system designs and proprietary communications interfaces result in redundancy and increase in cost of power electronics systems. This paper presents an energy router concept for buildings applications which provides autonomous power flow between sources and loads with a novel agent-based software interface.

This paper proposes a method to synthesis acoustic wave (AW) filters with Chebyshev response automatically. Meanwhile, each AW resonator used to design the filter can be easily fabricated on the same piezoelectric substrate. The method is based on an optimization algorithm with constraints for constant electromechanical coupling coefficient ( kt2) to minimize the defined cost function. Finally, the experimental result for a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter of global positioning system (GPS) frequency band based on the 42° lithium tantalate (LiTaO3) substrate validates the simulation results. The designed filter shows insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) better than 2.5dB and 18dB respectively in the pass-band, and out-band reflection larger than 30dB.

The purpose of this article is to present an algorithm which maximizes prediction accuracy under a linear regression model while preserving data privacy. This approach anonymizes the data such that the privacy of the original features is fully guaranteed, and the deterioration in predictive accuracy using the anonymized data is minimal. The proposed algorithm employs two stages: the first stage uses a probabilistic latent factor approach to anonymize the original features into a collection of lower dimensional latent factors, while the second stage uses an optimization algorithm to tune the anonymized data further, in a way which ensures a minimal loss in prediction accuracy under the predictive approach specified by the user. We demonstrate the advantages of our approach via numerical studies and apply our method to high-dimensional neuroimaging data where the goal is to predict the behavior of adolescents and teenagers based on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measurements.

Perner, Cora, Kinkelin, Holger, Carle, Georg.  2019.  Adaptive Network Management for Safety-Critical Systems. 2019 IFIP/IEEE Symposium on Integrated Network and Service Management (IM). :25–30.
Present networks within safety-critical systems rely on complex and inflexible network configurations. New technologies such as software-defined networking are more dynamic and offer more flexibility, but due care needs to be exercised to ensure that safety and security are not compromised by incorrect configurations. To this end, this paper proposes the use of pre-generated and optimized configuration templates. These provide alternate routes for traffic considering availability, resilience and timing constraints where network components fail due to attacks or faults. To obtain these templates, two heuristics based on Dijkstra's algorithm and an optimization algorithm providing the maximum resilience were investigated. While the configurations obtained through optimization yield appropriate templates, the heuristics investigated are not suitable to obtain configuration templates, since they cannot fulfill all requirements.

Aiming at the phenomenon that the urban traffic is complex at present, the optimization algorithm of the traditional logistic distribution path isn't sensitive to the change of road condition without strong application in the actual logistics distribution, the optimization algorithm research of logistics distribution path based on the deep belief network is raised. Firstly, build the traffic forecast model based on the deep belief network, complete the model training and conduct the verification by learning lots of traffic data. On such basis, combine the predicated road condition with the traffic network to build the time-share traffic network, amend the access set and the pheromone variable of ant algorithm in accordance with the time-share traffic network, and raise the optimization algorithm of logistics distribution path based on the traffic forecasting. Finally, verify the superiority and application value of the algorithm in the actual distribution through the optimization algorithm contrast test with other logistics distribution paths.

Jian, R., Chen, Y., Cheng, Y., Zhao, Y..  2017.  Millimeter Wave Microstrip Antenna Design Based on Swarm Intelligence Algorithm in 5G. 2017 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps). :1–6.

In order to solve the problem of millimeter wave (mm-wave) antenna impedance mismatch in 5G communication system, a optimization algorithm for Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization (PSACO) is proposed to optimize antenna patch parameter. It is proved that the proposed method can effectively achieve impedance matching in 28GHz center frequency, and the return loss characteristic is obviously improved. At the same time, the nonlinear regression model is used to solve the nonlinear relationship between the resonant frequency and the patch parameters. The Elman Neural Network (Elman NN) model is used to verify the reliability of PSACO and nonlinear regression model. Patch parameters optimized by PSACO were introduced into the nonlinear relationship, which obtained error within 2%. The method proposed in this paper improved efficiency in antenna design.
