Li, Jinkai, Yuan, Jie, Xiao, Yue.  2022.  A traditional medicine intellectual property protection scheme based on Hyperledger Fabric. 2022 4th International Conference on Advances in Computer Technology, Information Science and Communications (CTISC). :1–5.
Due to its decentralized trust mechanism, blockchain is increasingly used as a trust intermediary for multi-party cooperation to reduce the cost and risk of maintaining centralized trust nowadays. And as the requirements for privacy and high throughput, consortium blockchain is widely used in data sharing and business cooperation in practical application scenarios. Nowadays, the protection of traditional medicine has been regarded as human intangible cultural heritage in recent years, but this kind of protection still faces the problem that traditional medicine prescriptions are unsuitable for disclosure and difficult to protect. Hyperledger is a consortium blockchain featuring authorized access, high throughput, and tamper-resistance, making it ideal for privacy protection and information depository in traditional medicine protection. This study proposes a solution for intellectual property protection of traditional medicine by using a blockchain platform to record prescription iterations and clinical trial data. The privacy and confidentiality of Hyperledger can keep intellectual property information safe and private. In addition, the author proposes to invite the Patent Offices and legal institutions to join the blockchain network, maintain users' properties and issue certificates, which can provide a legal basis for rights protection when infringement occurs. Finally, the researchers have built a system corresponding to the scheme and tested the system. The test outcomes of the system can explain the usability of the system. And through the test of system throughput, under low system configuration, it can reach about 200 query operations per second, which can meet the application requirements of relevant organizations and governments.

As the voucher for identity, digital certificates and the public key infrastructure (PKI) system have always played a vital role to provide the authentication services. In recent years, with the increase in attacks on traditional centralized PKIs and the extensive deployment of blockchains, researchers have tried to establish blockchain-based secure decentralized PKIs and have made significant progress. Although blockchain enhances security, it brings new problems in scalability due to the inherent limitations of blockchain’s data structure and consensus mechanism, which become much severe for the massive access in the era of 5G and B5G. In this paper, we propose ScalaCert to mitigate the scalability problems of blockchain-based PKIs by utilizing redactable blockchain for "on-cert" revocation. Specifically, we utilize the redactable blockchain to record revocation information directly on the original certificate ("on-cert") and remove additional data structures such as CRL, significantly reducing storage overhead. Moreover, the combination of redactable and consortium blockchains brings a new kind of attack called deception of versions (DoV) attack. To defend against it, we design a random-block-node-check (RBNC) based freshness check mechanism. Security and performance analyses show that ScalaCert has sufficient security and effectively solves the scalability problem of the blockchain-based PKI system.

Vosatka, Jason, Stern, Andrew, Hossain, M.M., Rahman, Fahim, Allen, Jeffery, Allen, Monica, Farahmandi, Farimah, Tehranipoor, Mark.  2020.  Confidence Modeling and Tracking of Recycled Integrated Circuits, Enabled by Blockchain. 2020 IEEE Research and Applications of Photonics in Defense Conference (RAPID). :1—3.
The modern electronics supply chain is a globalized marketplace with the increasing threat of counterfeit integrated circuits (ICs) being installed into mission critical systems. A number of methods for detecting counterfeit ICs exist; however, effective test and evaluation (T&E) methods to assess the confidence of detecting recycled ICs are needed. Additionally, methods for the trustworthy tracking of recycled ICs in the supply chain are also needed. In this work, we propose a novel methodology to address the detection and tracking of recycled ICs at each stage of the electronics supply chain. We present a case study demonstrating our assessment model to calculate the confidence levels of authentic and recycled ICs, and to confidently track these types of ICs throughout the electronics supply chain.

Blockchain is well known for its storage consistency, decentralization and tamper-proof, but the privacy disclosure and difficulty in auditing discourage the innovative application of blockchain technology. As compared to public blockchain and private blockchain, consortium blockchain is widely used across different industries and use cases due to its privacy-preserving ability, auditability and high transaction rate. However, the present co-audit of privacy-preserving data on consortium blockchain is inefficient. Private data is usually encrypted by a session key before being published on a consortium blockchain for privacy preservation. The session key is shared with transaction parties and auditors for their access. For decentralizing auditorial power, multiple auditors on the consortium blockchain jointly undertake the responsibility of auditing. The distribution of the session key to an auditor requires individually encrypting the session key with the public key of the auditor. The transaction initiator needs to be online when each auditor asks for the session key, and one encryption of the session key for each auditor consumes resources. This work proposes GAChain and applies group key agreement technology to efficiently co-audit privacy-preserving data on consortium blockchain. Multiple auditors on the consortium blockchain form a group and utilize the blockchain to generate a shared group encryption key and their respective group decryption keys. The session key is encrypted only once by the group encryption key and stored on the consortium blockchain together with the encrypted private data. Auditors then obtain the encrypted session key from the chain and decrypt it with their respective group decryption key for co-auditing. The group key generation is involved only when the group forms or group membership changes, which happens very infrequently on the consortium blockchain. We implement the prototype of GAChain based on Hyperledger Fabric framework. Our experimental studies demonstrate that GAChain improves the co-audit efficiency of transactions containing private data on Fabric, and its incurred overhead is moderate.

Huang, Wei-Chiao, Yeh, Lo-Yao, Huang, Jiun-Long.  2019.  A Monitorable Peer-to-Peer File Sharing Mechanism. 2019 20th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS). :1–4.
With the rise of blockchain technology, peer-to-peer network system has once again caught people's attention. Peer-to-peer (P2P) is currently being implemented on various kind of decentralized systems such as InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). However, P2P file sharing network systems is not without its flaws. Data stored in the other nodes cannot be deleted by the owner and can only be deleted by other nodes themselves. Ensuring that personal data can be completely removed is an important issue to comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) criteria. To improve P2Ps privacy and security, we propose a monitorable peer-to-peer file sharing mechanism that synchronizes with other nodes to perform file deletion and to generate the File Authentication Code (FAC) of each IPFS nodes in order to make sure the system synchronized correctly. The proposed mechanism can integrate with a consortium Blockchain to comply with GDPR.
