Data integrity and recovery management is a more important issue in cloud computing because data is located in everywhere. There is a big challenge in backup recovery and security. It is required to provide an efficient and more reliable system in data storage. In this paper, a new methodology is focused and proposed data recovery and data management to assure high-level scalability and high order reliability to provide fault recognition and fault tolerance cloud-based systems. We propose a methodology of segmenting data and generating tokens for the data split-up by adding the address of the cloud or locations of the cloud storage using the tailing method. Thus the missing segment of any faulty node is easily recognized within a short range of limits and will get the data backup from the neighboring nodes.

Live migration is the process used in virtualization environment of datacenters in order to take the benefit of zero downtime during system maintenance. But during migrating live virtual machines along with system files and storage data, network traffic gets increases across network bandwidth and delays in migration time. There is need to reduce the migration time in order to maintain the system performance by analyzing and optimizing the storage overheads which mainly creates due to unnecessary duplicated data transferred during live migration. So there is need of such storage device which will keep the duplicated data residing in both the source as well as target physical host i.e. NAS. The proposed hash map based algorithm maps all I/O operations in order to track the duplicated data by assigning hash value to both NAS and RAM data. Only the unique data then will be sent data to the target host without affecting service level agreement (SLA), without affecting VM migration time, application downtime, SLA violations, VM pre-migration and downtime post migration overheads during pre and post migration of virtual machines.

NoSQL databases have become popular with enterprises due to their scalable and flexible storage management of big data. Nevertheless, their popularity also brings up security concerns. Most NoSQL databases lacked secure data encryption, relying on developers to implement cryptographic methods at application level or middleware layer as a wrapper around the database. While this approach protects the integrity of data, it increases the difficulty of executing queries. We were motivated to design a system that not only provides NoSQL databases with the necessary data security, but also supports the execution of query over encrypted data. Furthermore, how to exploit the distributed fashion of NoSQL databases to deliver high performance and scalability with massive client accesses is another important challenge. In this research, we introduce Crypt-NoSQL, the first prototype to support execution of query over encrypted data on NoSQL databases with high performance. Three different models of Crypt-NoSQL were proposed and performance was evaluated with Yahoo! Cloud Service Benchmark (YCSB) considering an enormous number of clients. Our experimental results show that Crypt-NoSQL can process queries over encrypted data with high performance and scalability. A guidance of establishing service level agreement (SLA) for Crypt-NoSQL as a cloud service is also proposed.

Today, cloud networking which is the ability to connect the user with his cloud services and to interconnect these services within an inter-cloud approach, is one of the recent research areas in the cloud computing research communities. The main drawback of cloud networking consists in the lack of Quality of Service (QoS) guarantee and management in conformance with a corresponding Service Level Agreement (SLA). Several research works have been proposed for the SLA establishing in cloud computing, but not in cloud networking. In this paper, we propose an architecture for self-establishing an end-to-end service level agreement between a Cloud Service User (CSU) and a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) in a cloud networking environment. We focus on QoS parameters for NaaS and IaaS services. The architecture ensures a self-establishing of the proposed SLA using autonomic cloud managers.

Eduroam is a secure WLAN roaming service between academic and research institutions around the globe. It allows users from participating institutions secure Internet access at any other participating visited institution using their home credentials. The authentication credentials are verified by the home institution, while authorization is done by the visited institution. The user receives an IP address in the range of the visited institution, and accesses the Internet through the firewall and proxy servers of the visited institution. However, access granted to services that authorize via an IP address of the visited institution may include access to services that are not allowed at the home institution, due to legal agreements. This paper looks at typical legal agreements with service providers and explores the risks and countermeasures that need to be considered when using eduroam.
