Aigner, A., Khelil, A..  2020.  A Security Qualification Matrix to Efficiently Measure Security in Cyber-Physical Systems. 2020 32nd International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM). :1–4.

Implementations of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), like the Internet of Things, Smart Factories or Smart Grid gain more and more impact in their fields of application, as they extend the functionality and quality of the offered services significantly. However, the coupling of safety-critical embedded systems and services of the cyber-space domain introduce many new challenges for system engineers. Especially, the goal to achieve a high level of security throughout CPS presents a major challenge. However, it is necessary to develop and deploy secure CPS, as vulnerabilities and threats may lead to a non- or maliciously modified functionality of the CPS. This could ultimately cause harm to life of involved actors, or at least sensitive information can be leaked or lost. Therefore, it is essential that system engineers are aware of the level of security of the deployed CPS. For this purpose, security metrics and security evaluation frameworks can be utilized, as they are able to quantitatively express security, based on different measurements and rules. However, existing security scoring solutions may not be able to generate accurate security scores for CPS, as they insufficiently consider the typical CPS characteristics, like the communication of heterogeneous systems of physical- and cyber-space domain in an unpredictable manner. Therefore, we propose a security analysis framework, called Security Qualification Matrix (SQM). The SQM is capable to analyses multiple attacks on a System-of-Systems level simultaneously. With this approach, dependencies, potential side effects and the impact of mitigation concepts can quickly be identified and evaluated.

Klarin, K., Nazor, I., Celar, S..  2019.  Ontology literature review as guidelines for improving Croatian Qualification Framework. 2019 42nd International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO). :1402–1407.

Development of information systems dealing with education and labour market using web and grid service architecture enables their modularity, expandability and interoperability. Application of ontologies to the web helps with collecting and selecting the knowledge about a certain field in a generic way, thus enabling different applications to understand, use, reuse and share the knowledge among them. A necessary step before publishing computer-interpretable data on the public web is the implementation of common standards that will ensure the exchange of information. Croatian Qualification Framework (CROQF) is a project of standardization of occupations for the labour market, as well as standardization of sets of qualifications, skills and competences and their mutual relations. This paper analysis a respectable amount of research dealing with application of ontologies to information systems in education during the last decade. The main goal is to compare achieved results according to: 1) phases of development/classifications of education-related ontologies; 2) areas of education and 3) standards and structures of metadata for educational systems. Collected information is used to provide insight into building blocks of CROQF, both the ones well supported by experience and best practices, and the ones that are not, together with guidelines for development of own standards using ontological structures.

Isaeva, N. A..  2018.  Choice of Control Parameters of Complex System on the Basis of Estimates of the Risks. 2018 Eleventh International Conference "Management of Large-Scale System Development" (MLSD. :1-4.

The method of choice the control parameters of a complex system based on estimates of the risks is proposed. The procedure of calculating the estimates of risks intended for a choice of rational managing directors of influences by an allocation of the group of the operating factors for the set criteria factor is considered. The purpose of choice of control parameters of the complex system is the minimization of an estimate of the risk of the functioning of the system by mean of a solution of a problem of search of an extremum of the function of many variables. The example of a choice of the operating factors in the sphere of intangible assets is given.

Rocha, T.S., Souto, E..  2014.  ETSSDetector: A Tool to Automatically Detect Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities. Network Computing and Applications (NCA), 2014 IEEE 13th International Symposium on. :306-309.

The inappropriate use of features intended to improve usability and interactivity of web applications has resulted in the emergence of various threats, including Cross-Site Scripting(XSS) attacks. In this work, we developed ETSS Detector, a generic and modular web vulnerability scanner that automatically analyzes web applications to find XSS vulnerabilities. ETSS Detector is able to identify and analyze all data entry points of the application and generate specific code injection tests for each one. The results shows that the correct filling of the input fields with only valid information ensures a better effectiveness of the tests, increasing the detection rate of XSS attacks.
