WFIOT 2018
4th World Forum on Internet of Things (WFIOT 2018)
The theme of the Conference is "Smart Cites and Nations" in recognition of Singapore's strides in embracing "Smart" -- policies, principles, and practices -- for which IoT is an important technology enabler. The World Forum on The Internet of Things consists of an outstanding Technical Program featuring the latest advances and experiences with IoT for the Academic and Research Community, a set of Vertical and Topical Area tracks of interest to Industry and to the Public Sector, and is relevant locally to Singapore and the larger Asia Pacific region. We expect attendance and participation from leading Research Institutions, Government Organizations responsible for IoT from around the World, and practitioners from major International Enterprises that provide products, goods, and services based on IoT.
It is the premier conference for the IEEE IoT Initiative and consists of the most outstanding participants from the research community, the public sector, and industry. The theme of the Conference is "Smart Cities and Nations" in recognition of strides and leadership that the host location of Singapore has made in the deployment of "smart" technologies, operating principles, and policies. The theme also underscores the importance of IoT technologies in making Smart Cities and Nations a reality. The papers, presentations, and events at the conference are focused on contributions to nurture, cultivate, and accelerate the adoption of IoT technologies and applications for the benefit of society. In the past year the Internet of Things has experienced significant growth in the number of deployments, in the resource investment from both industry and governments, and in attention from technologists in almost every discipline. The term IoT captures the vision of a connected world where things, people, and their institutions can interact purposefully to create better lives and sustainable stewardship of the planet.
The 2018 IEEE 4th World Forum on The Internet of Things (WF-IoT 2018) brings the latest from the research and academic community. It includes a broad program of papers and presentations on the latest technology developments and innovations in the many fields and disciplines that drive the utility and vitality of IoT solutions and applications. After extensive peer review, the best of the proposals are selected for the conference program, which includes technical papers, tutorials, workshops and industry sessions designed specifically to advance technologies, end-end solutions, systems and infrastructure, processes, and operating methods, that are contributing to how IoT can reshape the world and overcome the challenges we face, so that all individuals can participate in and enjoy life to the fullest.
The program also contains strong involvement from the public sector and industry aimed at deepening the understanding, the necessary dialog, and actions needed to accelerate the adoption and deployment of IoT. We have selected well-known Chairs, who can be contacted directly, to create sessions on issues of regional and global importance and to seek prominent and knowledgeable speakers and panelists for the program. For the subjects of interest at the conference we have picked five Vertical and five Topical Areas:
