Exchange Summary

In Germany, I worked for the Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) department under Johann Kelsch of the DLR. I was assigned to several tasks, including programming an Arduino to output any arbitrary signal it received over a serial input, and creating a GUI in Unreal Engine for programming the Arduino, and making a back-end LED strip animator. I managed to do most of the computer engineering design of the Arduino serial program, which involved creating timing structures and writing some generic ASM code. However, I had setbacks with the IT department at the DLR, and I didn't finish in time. I did, however, manage to finish the LED strip animator back-end, which involved making monochrome bitmap files. I forked code that was already on GitHub that dealt with making 24-bit monochromes and specialized it for monochrome bitmaps, which were to be used for the LED strip animations. The GUI in Unreal Engine was never started because the issues in IT.
