I would like to encourage you to encourage your students interested in IIS research areas (AI, data science, and HCI) to apply to the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). Information for applicants can be found here: https://nsfgrfp.org/applicants. Applications are due October 22. Undergraduate seniors, 1st year graduate students, and 2nd year graduate students are eligible. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Please note that the percentage of awards that go to students in a particular discipline is proportional to the percentage of applications sent to the corresponding NSF directorate.

I also encourage you to volunteer to serve as a reviewer for GRFP. More information can be found here, including a registration form for volunteers: https://nsfgrfp.org/panelist_info.
