Cloud-Assisted IoT Systems Privacy--2019Q3
PI(s), Co-PI(s), Researchers: Fengjun Li, Bo Luo
HARD PROBLEM(S) ADDRESSED
The goal of this project is to develop principles and methods to model privacy needs, threats, and protection mechanisms in cloud-assisted IoT systems. The work aims to address the hard problems of resilient architectures, security metrics as well as scalability and composability.
PUBLIC ACCOMPLISHMENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Continued developing privacy-preserving protocols to support machine learning tasks using IoT devices.
- Designed a blockchain-based framework to support privacy-preserving federated learning tasks in IoT devices. We also developed a proof-of-concept implementation. This work will be presented in 2019 ACM CCS conference.
- Continued defining privacy risks in IoT applications, especially the ones involving inter-device interactions.
