KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • We conducted a narrative literature review, to understand the factors that have impact on developers' adoption of privacy and security practices in product design and software development. On the basis of this survey, we developed a model that categorises the factors that affect developers' decision-making: from environmental level (context outside of organisation or team) to organizational, product and development process related, and finally, personal levels.

The draft is in preparation for submission to the Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security (SOUPS) next month.
