Abstract:

Transforming the traditional, single-vehicle-based safety and efficiency control, next-generation vehicles are expected to form platoons for optimizing roadway usage and fuel efficiency while ensuring transportation safety. Two basic enablers of vehicle platooning are vehicular wireless networking and platoon control.

DARPA has recently released the software for all of the design and collaboration tools used by participants in its first FANG Challenge. Source code for the META design tools, VehicleFORGE collaboration platform and iFAB foundry IT infrastructure are currently available for download from their online repository @ http://cps-vo.org/group/avm.
