Visible to the public Generalizing Text to Protect Privacy

Textual data can contain highly sensitive and identifying information; redaction is a difficult process that can make text unreadable and useless for many purposes. This poster describes an alternative: using ontologies to generalize words, resulting in text that is less sensitive, but still preserves meaning in a way that redacted data does not.

Visible to the public Evolutionary Approaches to Privacy and Information Security

ABSTRACT

The PIs propose to explore the influence that offline cues and stimuli, indicating the presence of other human beings in the physical world, and often processed unconsciously by our brains, can have over security and privacy behavior in cyberspace. The PIs' goal is to address the question: are there evolutionary roots for privacy and information security concerns?

Visible to the public A Digital Forensics Cyberinfrastructure Workforce Training Initiative for America’s Veterans

ABSTRACT

The objective of this project is to provide training in the field of digital forensics to members of the US Armed Forces who are being forced to make unexpected career changes due to injuries and medical conditions. To date, Auburn has completed sixteen courses and taught approximately 500 students.
