Visible to the public The Molecular Programming Project: Molecular Programming Architectures, Abstractions, Algorithms, and Applications

Our Expeditions in Computing aimed to establish the foundations for molecular programming as a new discipline within computer science. A molecular program is a collection of molecules that may perform a computation, fabricate an object, or control a system of molecular sensors and actuators.

Visible to the public Computational Sustainability: Computational Methods for a Sustainable Environment, Economy, and Society

Poverty, saving species, repowering the world with renewable energy, lifting people up to live better lives - there are no easy answers to guiding our planet on a path toward sustainability. Complex problems require sophisticated solutions. They involve intricacy beyond human capabilities, the kind of big-data processing and analysis that only advanced large-scale computing can provide.

Visible to the public Co-Design of Networking and Decentralized Control to Enable Aerial Networking in an Uncertain Airspace

Abstract: Airborne networking utilizes direct flight-to-to-flight communication for flexible information sharing, safe maneuvering, and coordination of time-critical missions. It is challenging because of the high mobility, stringent safety requirements, and uncertain airspace environment. This project uses a co-design approach that exploits the mutual benefits of networking and decentralized mobility control in an uncertain heterogeneous environment.
