Enabling Technologies: Future Forecast, FY2014

To provide guidance to USDOT with respect to the underlying enabling technologies necessary to realize Connected Vehicle implementations and Advancing the Vehicle Automation efforts.The strategic role of this project is to provide a clear understanding of the state of the art and future directions for the underpinning technologies necessary to automated and connected vehicles. The goal of this project is to provide a framework and content that can provide a clear understanding of the unique needs of vehicle automation applications and project the likely direction for technologies including: wireless spectrum, localization, positioning and timing technology development. This project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
