2014 National Workshop on Medical CPS

The National Science Foundation (NSF) - Directorate of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) and the Directorate for Engineering (ENG), in cooperation with the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) agencies - announced a workshop to explore clinical and technological R&D challenges, strategies, opportunities, and breakthrough ideas for technological and therapeutic innovation in medical devices and systems. The workshop was held on February 6-7, 2014 at the Waterview Conference Center located at 1919 N. Lynn St., Arlington, Virginia.

The goal of the workshop was to identify research directions and opportunities that, if pursued, can initiate new developments in medical instrumentation, technologies, and approaches to maintaining health and wellbeing and treating illnesses.

The 2014 National Workshop on Research Frontiers in Medical CPS built from the conversations of previous medical CPS meetings such as the Planning Meeting for NSF Workshop on Medical Device Innovation (July 2012) and Joint Medical CPS workshops conducted as part of CPS Week during 2011 and 2013 among others.
