EUROCRYPT 2006, the 23rd Annual EUROCRYPT conference on the theory and applications of cryptologic techniques, was organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). The conference was held on May 28 - June 1, 2006, in St. Petersburg, Russia.

To build on the success of ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) and ACM Transactions on Information and System Security (TISSEC), the ACM Special Interest Group on Security, Audit, and Control (SIGSAC) is proud to announce the founding of the ACMSymposium on InformAtion, Computer and Communications Security (ASIACCS).

The Network and Distributed System Security Symposium 2006 was held February 1-3, 2006 at Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa in San Diego, California.

ASIACRYPT 2005 was an international conference for all technical aspects of cryptology. ASIACRYPT 2005 was organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) in cooperation with the technical group on Information Security (ISEC) of Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, and the Computer Security group (CSEC) of Information Processing Society of Japan. ASIACRYPT 2005 was held on December 4-8, 2005 in Chennai, India.

The 12th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security was held in Alexandria, Virginia from November 7 to November 11, 2005. The annual ACM Computer and Communications Security Conference is a leading international forum for information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences.

Computer security is concerned with the protection of information in environments where there is a possibility of intrusion or malicious action. The aim of ESORICS is to further the progress of research in computer security by establishing a European forum for bringing together researchers in this area, by promoting the exchange of ideas with system developers and by encouraging links with researchers in related areas. Progressively organised in a series of European countries, the symposium is confirmed as the European research event in computer security.

Crypto 2005 was the twenty-fifth in a series of workshops on cryptology held in Santa Barbara, California on August 14-18 2005 and was sponsored by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Security and Privacy, and the Computer Science Department of the University of California, Santa Barbara. The program for the workshop covered all aspects of cryptology.

The first Symposium on Usable Privacy and Security (SOUPS) was held July 6-8, 2005 at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. This symposium brought together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and practitioners in human computer interaction, security, and privacy. The program featured refereed papers, tutorials, a poster session, panels and invited talks, and discussion sessions.

The Computer Security Foundations Workshop was held during June 20--22, 2005 in Aix-en-Provence, France . This is an annual workshop with the purpose of "bring[ing] together researchers to explore fundamental issues in computer security." Every year since its inception, the workshop has been limited to forty participants, the majority of whom present papers or speak on panels. The setting is informal with plenty of time for technical discussion.

EUROCRYPT 2005, the 22nd Annual EUROCRYPT conference on the theory and applications of cryptologic techniques, was organized by the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). The conference was held on May 22 - May 26, 2005, in Aarhus, Denmark

The Theory of Cryptography deals with the paradigms, approaches and techniques used to conceptualize, define and provide solutions to natural cryptographic problems. Research in this area includes:
