SPECIAL SESSION ON DESIGN OF CYBER-PHYSICAL SYSTEMS (DCPS)

FOCUS:
The Euromicro Conference on Digital System Design (DSD) addresses all aspects of (embedded, pervasive and high-performance) digital and mixed hardware/software system engineering, from application analysis, requirement specification and system architectures down to micro-architectures, digital circuits and VLSI techniques.

Next-generation digital systems will be ever more coupled with a non-digital world which is either a part of the overall information processing system (e.g., sensors, actuators, analog electronics, MEMS, power sources, thermal sources) or a part of the system being sensed, supervised or controlled.

SPECIAL SESSION SCOPE:
Research on Cyber-Physical Systems addresses the heterogeneity in system design, supporting a better design of the next-generation systems and their digital parts. Papers on any of the following or related topics can be submitted to the special session:

  • Handling cyber-physical issues in the design of next-generation digital systems.
  • Multi-objective optimization and co-design techniques for heterogeneous systems.
  • Efficient modeling, analysis, simulation and validation of heterogeneous cyber-physical systems; multi-domain co-simulation techniques; compositional analysis techniques.
  • Modeling, design, simulation and validation of analog/mixed-signal systems.
  • Design of resource-efficient mixed-criticality cyber-physical systems.
  • Manufacturing of smart cyber-physical systems: new paradigms, platforms, tools.
  • Safety-critical cyber-physical systems.
  • Human-centric cyber-physical systems.
  • Heterogeneous distributed pervasive networked embedded system applications.
  • Distributed, highly networked architectures for interconnected cyber-physical systems; sensor networks
  • Distributed and networked intelligent information collection, supervision and control systems.
  • Applications of cyber-physical systems in manufacturing and production: transportation (e.g. aviation, automotive, traffic control), building automation, energy management, environmental monitoring, biomedical, lab-on-a-chip, logistics, robotics, etc.

IMPORTANT DATES :

- Deadline for paper submission: April 6, 2014

- Notification of acceptance: May 25, 2014

- Camera ready papers due: June 15, 2014

PAPER SUBMISSION:
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts for review electronically through the following web page (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dsd2014) (or by sending the paper to the Session Chairs via email riccardo.muradore@univr.it, M.C.W.Geilen@tue.nl only if an unexpected web access problem is encountered) before the deadline for submission.

The manuscript of up to 8 pages should include the complete paper text, all illustrations, and references. The manuscript should conform to the required IEEE format: single-spaced, double column, A4/US letter page size, 10-point size Times Roman font. In order to conduct a blind review, no indication of the authors' names, affiliation or identity should appear in the submitted manuscript, references included.

Accepted papers are published as part of the DSD Proceedings by CPS, Conference Publishing Services and are available worldwide through the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The best papers of this special session will be considered for publication in the Special Issue on Cyber-physical Systems of the ISI-indexed Elsevier Journal of Microprocessors and Microsystems (MICPRO)".

INDEXING:
DSD is an event of proven quality, indexed by IEEE Xplore, Scopus, Google Scholar and other databases.
