CALL FOR PAPERS
The 7th Advanced Doctoral Conference on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems (DoCEIS'16) will reflect on the growing interests in research, development and application of Cyber-Physical Systems. Fast progress on embedded intelligence and interconnection of systems, enabled by advances in pervasive computing, sensing technologies, and computer networks, including developments on Internet of Things and Cloud Computing, lead to new architectural approaches to systems engineering. By exploring the synergies between computational and physical components, these systems leverage the emerging "network effect" and induce new advanced applications.
Prospective contributors to DoCEIS'16 are challenged to identify in which ways their research topics can contribute to or benefit from cyber-physical systems.
Important Dates:
- 9 Oct 2015 - Abstract submission
- 6 Nov 2015 - Full paper submission
- 11 Dec 2015 - Author notification
- 3 Jan 2015 - Camera ready submission
Conference Chairman:
- Prof. Luis M. Camarinha-Matos
Organization Chairman:
- Prof. Luis Gomes
Associated Activities:
- Prof. Pedro Pereira
Financial Chairman:
- Prof. Joao Goes
Topics: (not limited to)
- Computational and Perceptional Systems
- Energy
- Enterprise Collaborative Networks
- Control and Decision
- Electronics
- Signal Processing
- Informatics Applied to Electrical Systems
- Robotics and Integrated Manufacturing
- Industry Information Systems
- Telecommunications
- Biomedical Engineering
Prospective authors of research papers are invited to submit their manuscripts reporting original work, in any of the scientific areas of the conference. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are also encouraged. Nevertheless, each paper must make a clear link to the main theme of the conference, including a section describing that link. Following the successful previous editions, proceedings are expected to be published by Springer, IFIP AICT series (indexed in Web of Science, SCOPUS and DBLP).
Best papers will be considered for possible inclusion in a special journal issue. There will also be poster discussion sessions regarding thesis plans. These sessions are designed in order to provide early feedback to PhD candidates in the initial phase of their studies.
For PhD theses recently finished (during the last year), a special type of submissions is invited: extended papers (16 pages) providing a global overview of the thesis and its main findings.
