April 12-14, 2016 * Detroit, Michigan USA

Please consider submitting a paper or presentation to Session AE102/ Design Optimization Techniques at the SAE 2016 World Congress, April 12-14, 2016, Detroit, Michigan, USA.

  • Deadline for submitting paper or presentation abstracts September 1, 2015
  • Review Ready Manuscripts due to session organizers October 16, 2015
  • Final Manuscripts due to SAE February 2, 2016

Session AE102 Description

In its quest to reduce in-vehicle E/E system costs, mass/weight, and its impact on energy consumption and CO2 emissions, the automotive industry is mainly relying upon ad-hoc methods, point tools, and in-house experience. Key design decisions are made early in the development process when scarce information is available, and design uncertainties are high. Yet, because of time to market, competitive pressures, and government regulations, these decisions must be made efficiently and as accurately as possible.
The session will feature novel approaches in the area of optimization-driven design of in-vehicle E/E (HW/SW) systems that aim at ensuring a high degree of automation and integration of heterogeneous models, methods, tools, and design data, in order to address the design challenges in the presence of current and future uncertainties.

KEYWORDS: Design Automation, Optimization, Minimization, Mass, Cost, Power, Energy, Design Flow Management, E/E Architectures, Tool Integration Platforms, Data/Meta-Data Models, Trade-Study Support.

Submission Process

Abstracts stating the objective of the paper or presentation must be submitted at http://www.sae.org/congress/ to SAE and targeted to ONE session only. Upon submission, you will receive an automatic reply with your paper offer number. If you do not receive a paper offer number at that point, please retry on-line submission or email congress@sae.org. Offered papers must not have been previously published; and, if accepted, contributors will not release their paper for publication through other media. Refer to the author resources site at http://volunteers.sae.org/authors.htm for detailed information on preparing your paper. Paper acceptance will be based on organizer moderated peer review of a review ready manuscript. The session will feature accepted papers and (oral-only) presentations. Accepted papers will be published through the SAE Digital Library.
